Judge Harrell returned Friday
from an extended visit all over
the circuit and was very much
'encouraged by the reception that
he got at the hands of the voters
and his friends.

An effort is on foot to establish
an old field school here tor thirty
days and use the court house as
a building for that purpose. This
school will be open to those who
cant read or write and need it
that are over 18 years old. We
learn that Tax Collector Tom
Battle will teach the school if
the work is put on foot.
The Buick headquarters of Pat
Rich has been a source of many
complimentary remarks by
strangers passing through the
city in the past few weeks. This
building and its manner of ar
rangement has won quite a bit
of local attention. The place has
gotten to be auto headquarters
for most all the traveling ele
ment that have any time what
soever to spend in the city.
The announcement of the ap
proaching marriage of Miss Helen
Morris and Mr. Paul Trulock in
Sunday’s paper was a source of
much interest to the friends of
the contracting parties. Miss
Morris is the daughter of Captain
and Mrs. T. J. Morris and numbers
her friends by the score in the
city and county. Mr. Trulock is
one of the prominent business
men of the county and a partner
on the firm of the Trulock Supply
Company and a very popular
man. They are receiving the
congratulations of their friends.
