WHAT DO YOU THINK
OF
FREIGHT RATE REVISION ?
We have suggested to the Railroad Commis
sion of Georgia a system of revised rates for
intrastate commerce to conform with the sys
tem of rates for interstate commerce, the
hearing is set for August 17th.
The interests of the railroads and the inter
ests of the people are identical. If, in urging
our petition, we retard the development ot
Georgia, we retard the development ol the
railroads of Georgia.
You’ve thought about rate re
vision—does it affect your interest ?
Write us frankly just what
you think—what’s in your n^ 11 ^-
Have we the wrong idea? If
so, in what respect?
If we think you have the wrong
idea, we’ll try to set you straight.
Remember we cannot prosper unless yon
prosper. Your prosperity depends largely
upon good transportation service, hence the
community of interest.
We have told you the handicap under which
we, and a large number of the smaller towns in
Georgia, 3 are laboring. In asking you to write
to us we are not seeking praise. W*> ex -
• f* hucino
e seek ex
pression of your mature business opinion.
We think rate revision which removes dis
crimination and enables the railroads to earn
sufficient to render first-class service and carry
forward their work of development, a g°°
thing A revision on these lines cannot impose
a burden upon the business interests of Georgia
-which wm,Id he had for both the people and
the railroads.
Interstate revision, removing many dis
criminations, took place Ja.uarylstlashun-
der requirement ot the Intestate Comme
Commission. We think discrmiinationofhke
nature should be removed from intrastate ad
justments, also.
What do you think? Write today- .
Your letter will be appreciated and receive
attention.
It is not and will not be the policy of the Byroads of
with the same.
