Mr. Duff Gainous and sister, Miss Evie, from near Cairo were visiting triends in our com munity Saturday and Sunday. Among those attending the Farmers’ Union picnic at Pine Forest from this district, were Messrs. C. L.; G. F. and R. P. Martin, W. L Ritter, Marion Harrell and two sons. They re port a fine time, plenty of dinner and good speaking by promin ent men. Miss Elma Pope of Pine For est, visited at the home of Mrs. Marion Harrell Saturday and Sunday. Miss Emma Lou Martin visited Miss Elma Pope Saturday p. m. Mr. Carl Brock visited J. B. Sizemore Saturday and Sunday. Mr. Kimble Holly attended preaching at Mt. Pleasant last Sunday. The sing last Sunday at Mr. C. L. Martin’s was enjoyed by all. Miss Jewel Brock and Mr. R. B. Gainous drove to the sing Sunday p. m. John H. Brock and Misses Evie and Gertrude Dollar were out driving Saturday. Mr. E. Miss Jewel Brock, spent Fr iday night with Miss Emrra i Lou Martin. BETHEL ITEMS The farmers of this section are busy gathering cotton. Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Wilson visited Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Cato Sunday. Rev. W. 0. Crumbly preach ed a very interesting sermon at Bethel church last Sunday. We were very glad to have him with us once more. Mr. Walter Dodson is visit ing Mr. Jesse Wilson this week. Miss Laura Campbell and Mr. Charlie Wilson were nnited in the holy bonds of matrimony last Sunday. Rev. W. F. Cato officating. We wish for them a long and happy life. Mr. J. T. Wilson and family family gave a dinnerjlast Tues day in honor of the marriage of their baby boy Charles.
