[0 THE VOTERS OF
IECATURCOUNTY
On Tuesday next every man
rightly and morally obligat-
tocast his ballot for State
use officers. The only thing
it should oonoern every voter
*o loves Georgia and her good
me should be to vote for Hugh
Dorsey. Hugh Dorsey stood
the state or Georgia in one
the greatest crises that ever
wfronted a state.
When her good name was de
tained by lairs and paid hack-
hders all over the east, north
md west, Hugh Dorsey stood by
Ihe state as firm as the eter-
'al rock of the ages. Where
' as ^ at E, Harris, Dr. L. G.
lardinan, and the “great apos-
e of sincerity,” Joe Pottle,
'hen your state and her people
^ tald up to ridicle by the
n Ipress? Did either of
Ir sey s oppononents write a
lne or utter a word in defence
1 Georgia and her people?
Hugh Dorsey stood by his
’ lte and her people and for
le womanhood. In all this
eat 3 ' a nderous ordeal who was
/™ as that betrayed us—John
Slaton! the then traitor
pernor of Georgia. Slaton is
• aian behind the curtain to-
J and is backing the cam-
. lgn of Nat E. Harris with all
»power, both financially and
!tlc ally in an underhanded
a ' and through second hand
tnods, because, he dare not
n co\er bis guilty scalp. He
, ® uld be for Pottle or for Hard-
n ’-f he 1 did not believe that
1X13 ,,vas the strongest man
Dorsey. This accusa-
n or Slaton are facts known
.0 us
N°c, friends of Georgia and
ho j la . y Decatur county don’t
• eeeived; a vote for Harris is
a vni /° r dobln M. Slaton and
jj f . or e ither of the opposi-
jr ‘ Sls a v °te “against” Dorsey:
and a vote that will be pooled in
the convention against the will
of the people. These political
jugglers in the Macen Conven
tion will trade off your rote
just as you would trade an old
mule in the ‘‘rascal lot.” Don’t
be deceived. They remind us of
and incident that occurred years
ago,—an old 'Geechee negro who
worked for a man came in cry
ing and said “I want you to see
your neighbor, that negro Jake
insulted me, and I started to
whip him and your neighbor
stepped in between us and said
Uncle Dick don’t you hit Jake,
Jake is I and I is Jake.” In this
campaign Hardman is Harris,
Harris is Hardman and Pottle ex
pects to swallow them both at
the Maoon Convention when
they get the “Steam Roller”
working.
Don’t give them a chance to
use their unholy alliance in the
Macon Convention but vote for
Dorsey against John M. Slaton,
et al. This same traitor John
M, Slaton would immediately
after the election take another
trip north and say “the people
of Georgia defeated and repudi
ated Dorsey land elected ‘ ‘my
man” and vindicated “me” and
now I come to you again as the
great hero of Georgia.”
Now friends and citizens if
you love your home, your woman
and girls, vote for Hugh Dorsey,
the man of the hour, the man
who has been weighed in the
balance and found to be pure
gold, with all the dross separat
ed, He will never sell out, and
deither will he betray your trust
nor violate his sacred oath of
office.
Let,s all join hands, lay aside
factional politics and vote for
Dorsey the man who espouses
our common cause, who will
casry over one hundred counties
in Georgia next Tuesday, Dorsey
the man who on next Tuesday
night can .eturn to his home
and in his prayers can say “We
have 1 fought a . good fight, we
have kept the faith and we are
now ready to be delivered from
the hands of dishonest, selfish
and unscrupulous tricksters and
ring politicians, and will again
prove to the world that there
still remains honesty of purpose
and sincerity in the human
family.
Now in closing we wish to
again admonish you to come out
next Tuesday Sept. 12th, and
vote for Hugh M. Dorsey.
