The boys are all back from
the state convention and from
the reports that they brought
back it was rather a tame af

did not come to light. Roscoe
Luke the Thomas County man

Appeals and that gives his
friends in Decatur county great
pleasure.
The platform was an endorse

transacted except the endorse

WELL TO
Identifying persons at the ex
press offiice so as to enable
them to obtain their liquor
shipments, has become quite a
lucrative business for a number
of individuals who have no
better means of support.
It is often the case that a citi
zen who has ordered a couple of
quarts is in a hurry to take the
same out of the whiskey depot.
Before getting it, however, he
must be identified. Suppose he
goes to the express office in such
a hurry that he forgets to take
along a citizen who is known to
the express company and who
can identify him. In that even
he must hustle out and find a
friend, and the friend must
drop everything and go to the
whiskey depot and identify the
thirsty citizen.
A much simpler, easier and
quicker plan is to avail one’s
self of the accommodating ser
vices of an “identifier for hire,”
who will gladly vouch for the
citizen’s name, age and per
sonal habits if paid 50 cents or
such a matter, cash in hand.
A great convenience is the
“identifier for hire,” and his
services are getting to be more
and more in daily demand.
Experience in thousands of
homes has proven that the MA
JESTIC is the one range that
gives real satisfaction and cuts
down the cost of living. An ex
pert from the MAJESTIC fact
ory will be at our store during
the week commencing Monday
October 2, and will show you
why the MAJESTIC is the only
range for you,

The Bainbridge Band and 30
or more ears filled with DonalsonJ
ville Fair Rooters left here this
morning for all the neighboring
towns and on an advertising trip
furthering the interests of their
great institution. The folks from
Donalsonville are a live bunch.
TIE BANKS OF
The banks of the county all
have their statements in this
week’s issue of the paper and
we cant help from calling atten
tion to the prosperous condition
they show. The county is well
taken care of in the financial
way if you will notice the state
ment. Bainbridge banks show
an unusually healthy condition
with somewhere in the neighbor
hood of three quarters of a mil
lion dollars in them. The show
ing of the banks this year is a
shade better than this time last
year despite the various calam
ities that have visited this sec
tion.
Has it ever occurred to you
that a wore-out range wastes
money in burning too much fuel
and spoiling food? A range ex
pert who will have charge of
MAJESTIC DEMONSTRATION
during the week commencing
Monday October 2, will show
you how the MAJESTIC range
cuts down household expenses.

Consider the quality, the
quanity, the style and the local
air of this, the county paper and
its district wide ^circulation and
and the local air of this the coun
ty paper, and its wide distribut
ion and be governed accordingly
and leave a dollar here for your
self and one for your neighbor as
well.
An advertiser of the paper was
in yesterday and told us to take
out an advertisement that was in
for four but twolissues gave lots
more results than he ever hoped
tor. That’s our way of doing bus
iness. That happens every week;

Passers by on the River Road
were surprised Wednesday morn
ing to find a negro named Shuler
hanging to a limb on a tree about
five miles from the city. Shuler
has attempted rape [on a young
white girl in that section and
paid the usual penalty. The
work was done it seems very
quietly and without any excite
ment. in fact much more orderly
than in either Ohio or Massa
chusetts. The body was taken
down Wednesday an inquest
held and the incident closed.
The matter was talked of a little
on the streets in Bainbridge but
there seemed to be nothing undue
about the discussion.
BIC CHURCH INSTITUTE
Big preachers coming among
them is Rev. Arthur^ Moore. He
will be here on Sunday Oct. 15.
Let Bainbridge and Decatur
county get ready for the great
event. Look for full program
next week.
When about to buy any article
such as a range that plays an
important part in the daily
routine of the home, it pays to
examine it carefully and be sure
you are getting the best range
value. A range expert from the
factory will during the week
commencing October 2, be at
our store and will show you
how the MAJESTIC is built,
why it lasts so long an why it is
the best order.
