Calomel Salivates
and Makes You
Sick
Acts like dynamite on a
sluggish liver and you
loose a day’s work
There’s no reason why a per
son should take sickening, sali
vating calomel when 50 cents
buys a large bottle of Donson’s
Liver Tone—a perfect substitute
for calomel.
It is a pleasant, vegetable
liquid which will start your liver
just as surely as calomel, but it
does not make you sick and can
not salivate.
Children and grown folks can
take Dodson’s Liver Tone be
cause it is perfectly harmless.
Calomel is a dangerous drug.
It is mercury and attacks your
banes. Take a dose of nasty
calomel today and you will feel
weak sick, and nauseated to
morrow.
Dont loose a day’s work. Take
a spoonful ef Dodson’s Liver
Tone instead and you will wake
up feeling gaeat. No more bili
ousness, constipation, sluggish
ness, headaches, coated tongue
or sour stomach. Your druggist
says if you don’t find Dodson’s
Liver Tone acts better than the
horrible calomel your money is
waiting for you.

In mentioning the deplorable
condition of the old veteran last
week Mr. J. H. Hampton we
overlooked stating that the good
people of the Fowlstown neigh
borhood had all contributed their
share to his aid. In a talk with
Mr. Ben Thomas he said that if
any one felt like it they could
help put a marker over the old
vet’s grave but so for as he was
concerned that he was perfectly
willing to bear the expense of
the laying away of the old man.
But he would like to see the
grave marked and shown proper
consideration.

[negroes parole
CALHOUN PREACHER
Monday night there was a
great gathering of negroes at
the railroad station at Cuthbert,
the number being estimated at
about 200. Some came in on the
train from Fort Gaines, some
on the G. F. & A., while others
were from Cuthbert and the
country adjacent. It was report
ed that they were bound for the
north.
But before the northbound
Central train arrived dissension
arose among .the ranks of the
would be exodusters. According
to some of the negroes, they had
paid good money to a little negro
preacher named Abe Lee, who
was to provide them with tickets
the number of 800. The amounts
they said they paid Lee ranged
from ten cents to one dollar.
They claimed that he had failed
to make good his promises, and
their indignation grew until it
finally vented itself through the
medium of a barrell stave upon
the abbreviated person of the
said Lee, who is reported to have
been handled rather roughly.
Not satisfied even then, the
negroes had Lee taken into
custody by the police an locked
up.
This upset in their plans seem
ed to demoralize the crowd and
when the train arrived only five
of six negroes boarded it and
they may not have gone north.
Lee was released from the
calaboose Tuesday, no one hav
ing sworn out a warrant against
him. He is a short-legged,
dwarfish little fellow living, it
is said in Calhoun county and
is well known around here.—
Cuthbert Leader.
