Veterinarian Dr. Esther Williams-Sills taught the students about veterinary care and read them the book, Madeline Finn and the Library Dog, about a therapy dog that helps a young girl learn to read. ^IReStore. Georgia Writers Museum (GWM) will present a staged reading July 25, of four student- written, one-act plays full of imagination, storytelling, and creative thought. “Imagine Me,” written by AJ Pontzer, follows Simon, a young artist who struggles to create for himself instead of trying to please others, especially “The Critic.” With the help of his mentor, Simon begins to figure out what kind of artist he really wants to be. “Imagine Me” is about learning to trust yourself and letting go of other people’s expectations. “Murder in the Mirror Maze,” written by Rory DeVevo and Halle Harrison, is a wild comedy that takes place in a circus. Their therapist then brings them to a circus to face their fears, but things take a strange turn in the mirror maze. What follows is a mix of mystery and chaos. This play doesn’t take itself too seriously and ends with a twist you won’t see coming! “Echoes of Silence,” written by Daniel and blamed for the murder but swears she’s not guilty. As her friends try to figure out the truth, secrets emerge, and trust starts to fall apart. Packed with tension, twists, and tough choices, BANK OF MADISON C VE Hannah Williams, tells a story of overcoming strug gles in friendship. James and Bartholomew are two boys trying to enjoy an afternoon together, but things keep going wrong. James loses his temper, Bartholomew gets upset, and their friendship is tested. With a bit of help from James’ mom, the two boys just might find a way to make up. “Echoes of Silence” emphasizes the importance of apologies and learning from your mistakes. Finally, “The Party Killer,” written by Alexie Vail, Olivia Chomiak, and Tinsley Collis, follows the aftermath of a party that ends with a guest’s death. Marilyn finds herself “The Party Killer” reveals how quickly things can change — and how hard it can be to really know who to trust. Brought to life by a cast of impressive, young, local actors under directors Chloe Butts and Elizabeth Brosman, witness their words come to life on stage at Georgia Writers Museum.
