Thursday September 4, 2025 reception hosted by Madison Artists Guild U Story and photos by Leigh Lofgren leigh@msgrnews.com The Madison Artists Guild (MAG) held a recep tion last Friday evening for sculptor Helene Roberts and her “Beneath The Surface” exhibition. The display is sponsored by the DuBose Law Firm in Madison and features 3-D mixed media. Compli mentary food and drink from Harvest & Honey and live music by MaCayla Hodges made the exhibit reception a complete evening out for guests. Roberts was born and raised in the Netherlands and began her career as a commercial designer creating interiors, furni ture, and functional art. She moved to Belgium to learn sculpture, and drawn to figurative sculpture she furthered her studies in Italy. After previously living in the United Kingdom and Belgium, Roberts and her husband now call Madison “home.” Her work currently focuses on design and functionality and Roberts describes “Beneath The Surface” as an effort to encourage viewers to observe others thought fully, to genuinely under stand them, and to consider the emotional factors and challenges that impact us all. “Beneath The Surface” is open to the public until Oct. 4 at the Madison Artists Guild (125 W.
