On Friday morning, November 5th,
death came to the home of Mr. and
Mrs. J. T. Guice and took from them
their darling little William. He was
seventeen months old and was loved
by all. He never saw a stranger. He
was good and kind to other children.
Oh, how we hate to depart with one
we love so dear, but God’s will must
be done.
He was sick three weeks and never
cried, but took his suffering so easy
and lay just like he was asleep. He
leaves a father, mother, one brother
and three sisters, one grandmother
and one grandfather, and a host of
relatives and other friends to mourn
the loss. But our loss iB heaven's
gain.
A precious one from us is gone,
A voice we loved is stilled,
,A place is vacant in that home
W’hich never can be filled.
God in His wisdom }ias recalled,
We bore his love had given,
Though the body slumbers here,
His soul is safe in heaven.
HI SCHOOL NEWS.
Friday morning, at 9:15, the whole
school was aroused by the loud clang
ing of the bell. The fire alarm spread
quickly through the building, and in
a few minutes we were collecting our
possessions on the front campus.
Desks, children and wraps presented
a rather confused mass. , d I
It seenis that the fire caught from
one of the chimney. We thought that
in a few minutes the whole building
would be gone. But the men iput it !
out in ten or fifteen minutes. This]
fire did us more inconvenience tiian
harm, for we have not yet reclaimed
or rearranged all of our equipment.
The Domestic Science department
had planned a luncheon for the Tues
day before Thanksgiving, but on ac
count of our recent inconvenience it
has been postponed until the following
Tuesday.
When Mr. Britton was visiting our
school he investigated especially the
High School department. To the Do
mestic Science department he gave a
book which the''department can use tc*
supplement the text.
