Mr. C. E. Coppedge for several
daps past has been making syrup on
his plantation near Dlgby in Spauld

from the day’s work in barrels at the
mill when quitting work for the day.
On returning to work in the morning
his barrels of skimmings would be
missing. So he decided to give the
skimmings to his hogs before leav
ing the mill. In some way he over
looked a ten-gallon can of syrup.
When he went to work next morn
ing the syrup was gone. This was
just a little too much, so he goes on
the war path and findB several bar

making whiskey on adjoining farm
which he promptly destroyed and
sent word to other suspects that his
barrels had to be brought back and
put in their proper place. The syrup
