In taking leave of the people as an official of the county, I wish to ex press my appreciation to the teachers, trustees and friends of the schools throughout the county who have work ed for the betterment of schools in this county. My interest in the schools will not abate with the expiration of my commission as superintendent, and I pledge my support to any progres sive movement for better schools. The people are to be congratulated in being able to secure the services of Professor Lester as superintend ent and with the co-operation of the school people, which any official must have if ho renders perfect serv ice, the schools will doubtless develop as they should. No county in the state has a superintendent better edu cated for his work, with a better rec ord in school work for a man of his age, neither have they a superintend ent with sounder principles of conduct as a man and a citizen. I take pleasure in surrendering my official duties to a man of Professor Lester’s type and ( express my liest wishes for a most successful admini- tration of the schools for the next four years.
