COTTON RECEIPTS
For Winder Ruu Up To
Nine Thousand Bales.
As the cotton season of 1899 —1900 is
drawing to a close The Economist
wishes to say a few words concorning
Winder as a cotton market and also
give the receipts.
During this season there has been no
market that surpassed us. Cotton has
come here as far away as twenty miles
because a higher price cculd be real zed
here than other points nearer the farm,
ers’ homes. The buyers here almost
invariably pay more for the fleecy sta
ple than their limit. Had it not been
for the very short crop in all this sec
tion of the state last year, the receipts
here would have run to twelve or fif
teen thousand bags; with this short
crop’ however, they have run up to
NINE THOSAND. The next season’s
receipts ought to go to at least fifteen
thousand as the facilities for handling
it will b? much better in every respect.
STORY OF A SLAVE.
To be bound hand and foot for veers
by the chains of disease is the worst
form of slavery. George D. Williams,
of Manchester, Mich, tells how such a
slave was made free. He says: “My
wife has been so helpless for five years
that she could not turn over in bed
alone. After usiDg two bottles of Elec
tric Bitters, she is wonderfully im
proved and able to do her own work.
This supreme remedy for female dis
eases quickly cures nervousness, sleep
lessness, melancholy, headache, back
ache, fainting and dizzy spells. This
miracle working medicine is a godsend
to weak, sickly, run down people. Ev
ery bottle guaranteed. Only 60 centss

DOES IT PAY TO BUY CHEAP?
A cheap remedy for coughs and colds
is all right, but you want something
that will relieve and cure the more se
vere and dangerous results of throat and
lung troubles. What shall you do? Go
to a warmer and more regular climate?
Yes, if possiple; if not posible for you,
then in either case take the ONLY rem
edy that has been introduced in all civ
ilized countries with success for severe
throat and lungs troubles, Boschee’s
German Syrup.” It not only heals and
stimulates tne tissues to destroy the
germ disease, but allays inflammation,
causes easy expectoration, gives a good
night’s rest, and cures the patient. Try
one bottle. Recommended many years
by all druggists in the world. Sample

AN EPIDEMIC OF WHOOPING
COUGH.
Last winter during an epidemic of
whooping cough my children contracted
the disease, having severe coughing
spells. We had used Chamberlain’s
Cough Remedy very successfully for
croup and naturally turned to it at that
time and found it relieved the cough and
effected a complete cura—John E. Clif

The ancients believed that rheuma
tism was the work of a demon within a
man. Any one who has had an attack
of sciatic or inflammatory rheumatism
will agree that the infliction is demoni
ac enough to warrant the belief. It has
naver been claimed that Chamberlain’s
Pain Balm would cast out demons, but
it will cure rheumatism, and hundreds
bear testimony to the truth of this
statement. One application relieves
the pain, and this quick relief which it
affords is alone worth its cost. For

I consider it not only a pleasure but a
duty I owe to my neighbors to tell about
the wonderful cure effeoted in my case
by the timely use of Chamberlain’s Col
ic, Cholera aud Diarrhoea Remedy. I
was taken very badly with flax and pro
cured a bottle of this remedy. A few
doses of it effected a permanent cure.
I take pleasure in recommending it to
others suffering from that dreadful dis
ease.—J. W. Lynch, Dorr, W. Va.
