WOULD NOT SUFFER SO AGAIN
FOB FIFTY TIMES ITS PRICE.
I awoke last night with severe pains
in my stomach. I never felt so badly
iu all my life. When I came down to
work this morning I felt so weak I
conld harkly work. 1 went to Miller &
McCurdy’s drug store and they recom
mended Chamberlain’s Colic, Cholera
and Diarrhoea Remedy. It worked like
magic and one dose fixed me alright. It
certainly is the finest thing I ever used
for stomach trouble. I shall not be
without it in my home hereafter, for 1
should not care to endure the sufferings
of last night again for fifty times its
price.— G. H. Wilson, Liveryman, Bur

HOSCHTON.
Seeing no communication in the col
umns of The Economist from Hosch
tou for some time, I have concluded to
write you this week.
Braselton Bros & Cooper have com
pleted their fine roller mill and it is
now in running order. They propose
not only to grind for the public, but
to buy all surplus wheat of the farmers
who wish to dispose of it. Their splen
did plant for giuning was completed
last fall.
Dr. W. P. DeLaPerriere, Mr. Bran
don and others are putting up a large
building and will soon begin the miuu
facture of horse collars o i a large scale.
The Hosch Bros., with others, are
collecting the material for patting up a
plant for ginning the next cotton crop.
It will be fitted up with all the latest
improvements.
Mrs. Frank Haynes, who has bsen
very sick for a long time, we a-e glad
to learn, is a little better.
The little babe of Mr. Rnssell Hosch is
quite sick.
Prof. 8. P. Orr has been confined to
his room with sciatica for the past two
weeks, but is improving, and will be
able to be at his post wheu school opens
on Monday the 16th inst.
The excessive rains have put the
farmers behind with their work so bad
ly that many of the teachers have
thought best to postpone opening their
schools later than they otherwise would
have done. Observer.
Last fall I sDrained my left hip while
handling some heavy boxes. The doc
tor 1 called on said at first it was a
slight strain and would soon be well,
but it grew worse and the doctor then
said 1 had rheumatism. It continued
to grow worse and I could hardly get
around to work. I went to a drug store
and the druggist recommended me to
try Chamberlain’s Pain Balm. I tried
it and one-half of a 50 cent bottle cared
me entirely. 1 now recommend it to
a'l my friends —F. A Babcock, Erie,
Pa. It is for sale by Winder Drug Cos.

Lawn Party.
The lawn party given by the young
ladies to the young gentlemen at the
homo of Mr. ani Mrs. J. R. Coker on
Wednesday evening, was one of the
most pleasant and enjoyable events
that has takeu pl ’ce iu Winder for a
long wh'le. Most every young lady
and gentleman here was present and
the beauiiful grove near the residence
of Mr. and Mrs. Coker was beautifully
lighted with Japanese lanterns and
presented a lovely scene. The young
ladies deserve much praise for their ef
forts to make the evening one of so
much pleasure and merriment.
A LIFE AND DEATH FIGHT.
Mr. W. A Hines of Manchester, la.,
writing of his almost miarcnlousescapo
from death, says: “Exposure after meas
les induced serious luug trouble, whicn
ended iu Consumption. I had frequent
hemorrhages aud coughed night and
day. All my doctors said I must soon
die. Then I began to use Dr. King’s
New Discovery tor Consumption, which
completely cured me. I would not bo
withont it even if it cost $3,00 a bottle.
Hundreds have used it on my recom
mendation aud all say it never fails to
oure Throat, Chest and Long troubles.”

Copper Production
The growth of copper production in
the century has been very rapid, being
in the first decade 91,000 tons, in the
fifth 291,000 tons, and in the tenth de
cade, which ends with 1900, 3,043,000
tons, of which 1,9(53,000 tons is supplied
by North America, the proportion
of this being from the United States.
The rapid extension of the railroad sys
tem of Mexico is resulting in the open
ing of some very extensive copper mines
in that country; thejrichness of the ores,
which, as a rule, carry gold aud silver,
together witn the abundance of very
cheap laber and the climatic advantages
will tend to greatly increase the Not th
American prodneton. One of the lar
gest copper mining enterprises iu the
world is now being started by the
Rothschilds, whojhave invented $5,000,-
000 therein. Tnis great property is iu
the State of Michoacan, aud in the
same mineral belt as are the El Progreso
Mines that are advertised in this issue.
The mainspring of the in
crease of the world’s production of cop
per is, the great'profit that
results from mining it, and at the pres
ent time no better iuvestmeut is offered
than the stock of a good copper mining
company in the initial stages and before
a dividend is paid.
QUESTION ANSWERED. 3
Yes, August Flower still has the
largest sale of any medicine in the civ
ilized world, Your mothers’ and grand
mothers’ never thought of using any
thing else for Indigestion or Biliousness.
Doctors were scarce, aud they seldom
heard of Appendicitis, Nervous Prostra
tion or Heart failure, etc. They used
August Flower to clean out the system
and stop fermentation of undigested
food, regulate the action of the liver,
stimulate the nervous and organic ac
tion of the system, aud that is all they
took when feeling dull and bd with
headaches and other aches. Yon only
need a few doses of Green's August
Flower, in lignid form, to make you
satisfied there is nothing serious the
matter with you. Sample bottles at
Winder Drug Cos.
"My dear brudders an’ sisters,” re
marked the venerable pastor of the on
ly colored church in town, as he care
fully cleared the broad table in front of
him so that every nickel, cent, and but
ton laid npon it would stand oat in
startling distinctness, "dere is some of
de folks in dis chn’ch gives accawdin’
to deir means, an’ some accawdin’ to
deir meanness. Le’s not have anyofde
secon’ class heah dis mawnin’!” After
which the processon commenced, and
everybody reached for his bottom dime.
