An Enjoyable Dinner.
Avery enjoyable dinner was given
by Mrs. Hugh Brady on Thursday, June
23rd. in honor of Mr. Brady’s birthday.

Mesdames Morgan and Wages Enter
tain at Delightful Picnic.
One of the most enjoyable events of
the summer was the picnic on Wednes
day afternoon given by Mesdames A. S
Morgan and O. C. Wages at Potter s
spring. A feature which afforded suite
a bit of amusement was the imagina
ry “auction sale” conducted in a most
successful manner by Mrs. R. H. Kim
ball. Several other features were en
joyed and late in the afternoon a most
tempting salad course followed by a
frozen course was served. More than
seventy-five guests enjoyed Mesdames
Morgan and Wages’ delightful hospi
tality on this occasion.

In Honor of Miss Louise Rainey.
An enjoyible event of last week was
the lovely party on Saturday morning
given by Mesdames George H. Fortson
and Henry Pledger, in honor of Miss
Louise Rainey of Atlanta, the guest of
Miss Mary Quarterman. The morning
was spent merrily playing games and
a delicious salad course was served.

Miss Louise Rainey, who spent ten
days here as the guest of Miss Mary
Quarternan has gone to Jefferson for
a few days' visit before returning to
her home in Atlanta.

Dr. Burns and little son, of Atlanta,
visited Winder on Sunday, coming thro
the country to visit Mrs. Burns, who
was one of the pianists for the Till
man meeting.

Miss Jeffie Weaver, who has been on
an extended visit in Arkansas, Tennes
see and Atlanta, stopped over for a vis
ited to Miss Annie Thomas before re
turning to her home in Monroe.
Mr. and Mrs. H. O. Camp and son,

and Mr. and Mrs. Gurley Smith spent
last week visiting the camp at Lake
mont, and at Mountain City.

The boys who have been on a camp
up at Lakemont have returned to their
homes in this city. Those in the party
were Hope Camp. Ambrose Jackson.

Dr. J. H. Moore left last Friday for
Elberton where he will make his fu
ture home. Dr. Moore has been in
Winder for more than a year and made
many friends while here who wish for
him much success in his new field of
veterinary surgeory.

Those who have requested reserva
tions in the boys and girls camp at Na
coochee are asked to pay their dues to
Mr. J. F. Broome by July Ist (Friday)
The boys will leave for Nacoochee on
the coming Tuesday, and the girls will
leave on Wednesday, the 13th of July.

Miss Lucile Walker, who has just
graduated from Roberson University.
Washington. D. C.. will arrive this week
to be the guest at the Parsonage. Miss
Walker, who was a classmate of Mrs.
Collins, is en route to her home in Bir
