AN ENJOYABLE THANKS
GIVING EVENT.
An enjoyable event of Thanksgiving
Day was a turkey dinner given by Mr.
and Mrs. R. I’. Williams for the mem
bers of their family and a few friends.
It has been a feature of Thanksgiving
Day for many years for Mr. and Mrs.
Williams to have all their children
gather at the old home on Broad street
and spend a day of general thanks
giving and enjoy a sumptuous feast.
Even during the late world war,
when three sons were away in service,
the brave hearted old father and moth
er entertained the remaining children.
But they were made glad on this
Thanksgiving Day to have them all
back “in the fold.”
The decorations throughout the
house, on this occasion, were in ac
cordance with the Thanksgiving sea
son. A large, facy-sliape basket cut
front a pumpkin and tilled with bright
colored fruits formed the central dec
oration of the dining table, which was
laden with everything palatable that
a 'mother's hand can prepare for such
an occasion. Music and conversation
■were enjoyed throughout the day, and
in the afternoon a stroll to the woods
completed the pleasures of a perfect
day.
The guests departed late in the af
ternoon hoping for these noble par
ents many more happy Thanksgiving
days.
Those present were. Misses Elizabeth
and Jack Durham, Cammie, Roth and
Esther Williams, Mr. and Mrs. Albert
Williams, and little daughter. Virginia,
Mr. and Mrs. Preston Williams, Mr.
and Mrs. Hosea Williams, Messrs. Dave
and Sam Williams, Mr. and Mrs. J. S.
Jackson, Mr. and Mrs. Worth Jackson
and their little daughters, Sylvia, Jean
and Catherine.
