CUB.
, The regular monthly business meet
ing of the Young Matrons Federated
Club was held December 15th at the
home of Mrs. Clyde Williamson. The
meeting was called to order by the
president, Mrs. Herschel Smith, and
quite an interesting meeting was held.
A number of business matters came up
for discussion and plans were made to
be carried out in the near future.
After the business session the hos
tess served delightful refreshments.
The next meeting of the club will be
of a social nature, on Thursday,
December 29th, when Mrs. Parks Stew
art will be hostess. —Reporter.
MISS ERMINE STANTON
HONOREE.
Mrs. Gordon Greene, of Washington,
P.C., entertained delightfully on Tues
day afternoon at the home of her par
Miss Ermine Stanton being the honoree.
Mrs. Greene, attired in a lovely lace
frock, assisted by Mrs. Henry Pledger,
gowned in black velvet, received the
guests and presented each with a score
•card.
The game of “cootie” was played dur
ing the afternoon. Miss Stanton made
top score and was awarded a pretty
bud vase, and also a lovely guest, prize,
while Mrs. Johns won consolation, a
hand made handkerchief. At the con
clusion of the games, miniature Christ
mas trees with candles were placed on
each, table and the glow of burning ta
pers made a lovely scene with the artis
tically decorated rooms.
The Christmas dish, ambrosia, with
■hflicaroons and hot chocolate was serv
ed by Mrs. Quarterman, Mrs. Johns,
Mrs. Pledger and Mrs. Greene.
These enjoying Mrs. Greene's hospi
tality were Mesdames Hulme Kinne
brew, Carter Daniel, of Athens; Maude
Bondurant, George Fortson, Henry
Pledger, Fleming Thompson, Parks

Rev. W. B. McDonald filled his last

friends at the home of the grooms par

Mrs. C. E. Nicholson is entertaining
as her guest this week Mrs. Mattie Mc-
Williams of Gainesville.

the former's birthday dinner last Sun

Mrs. C. B. Chambers entertained the
teachers on last Wednesday from 4:00
to 6:00. Conversation and music was
enjoyed for more than an hour, after
which a delightful salad and sweet
course was served by the hostess. Miss
Idalee Ross assisted Mrs. Chambers in
entertaining. Those to enjoy the oc
casion were Mrs. P. L. Hutchins, Miss

Statham basket bail team defeated
Bogart again last Friday. Statham has
a lighting bunch.
The girls of Stftham are getting up
a basket ball team and when they prac
tice awhile they will be ready to play
most any of them.
