PARSONAGE EOR PRESIDING ELDER.
The district stewards of the
Gainesville Methodist district met
last Tuesday in the First Methodist
church in this city in annual con
vention- They distributed the as
sessments for the support of the
presiding elder among the several
charges of the district. They also
took up the matter of the erection
of a district parsonage, a home for
the presiding elder —such as most
of the districts of Southern Meth
odism have. They decided to rec
ommend to the district conference
which meets next summer at Mon
roe the building of such parsonage
and selected Gainesville as the loca
tion. By summer it is hoped that
a suitable site will he secured and
that definite plans for the building
will he ready for presentation for
mally to the district conference.
Those who were present at the meet
ing were Col. Dean of Monroe, Mr.
J. N. Holder of Jefferson, Dr. Me-
