the marriage of Ins daughter, Mat
tie Mae, to Mr. Carlton Olin Nib
'lack, of Winder, Ga., on Saturday
evening, July 26th, the father of
the bride officiating.
Immediately after the ceremony
Mr. and Mrs. Niblack left ior New
York, Boston and other eastern
points. The above announcement
is of much interest to the many
friends here of Mr. and Mrs. Nib
lack. Mrs. Niblack, as Miss Tum
lin, was one of t Tie nnlst popular
and attractive teachers in the
school here. Mr. Niblack is one of
the leadng cotton buyers and a
very influencial citizen.

Mr. and Mrs. T. 0. Flanigan of
Auburn, announce the engagement
of their daughter, Myrtle Mae. to
Mr. Thomas Gaines Ethridge, the
wedding to take place at an early

Last Tuesday afternoon at the
home of the brides’ parents, at
Auburn, Ga, Miss Cary Chesser
and Mr. Ernest Kilgore were unit
ed in marriage.
The many friends of this young
couple wish for them a long and
happy wedded life.

punch was served, and after en
joying a splendid picture at Ihe
Strand, we enjoyed an ice course
at The City Drug Store. Those

Young Matrons’ Club.
Mrs. Roy Jackson was the
charming hostess to The Young
Matrons’ Club and other friends,
last Thursday afternoon. Her love
ly home was beautifully decorated
with Zenius and Merrygolds. The
guest were meet at the door by the
hostess and ushered into the din
ing room, where delightful punch
and sandwiches were served by
Mrs. Spurgeon Williams and .Miss
Jackson. After a flower contest
and unique contest of making pap
er Howers. the guest were served
a dainty salad course. The Club

The hall, living room dining room
and sun parlor were thrown toge
ther and beautifully decorated
in crepe myrtle and pink roses and
asters. Alesdames Mac Potts and
\V. A. Bradley received in the
hall, Alesdames Claud Alayne and
W. A. Brooks received in the liv-
ing room. In the sun parlor Ales-
Idames R. J. Smith and Alice Dunn
served punch. Misses Louise

their mandolins during the after
