WINDER INTERESTED IN SOL
DIERS MEMORIAL.
At the Baptist Church Sunday
morning, the pastor made a few
preliminary remarks concerning
Barrow’s patriotic response to all
appeals, and commended the citi
zens for their vital interest in'all
worthy movements, and urged
that a worthy memorial be erected
to the soldiers of the C. S. A. the
Mexican war, the German war
and the good women who loyally
stood by all the patriots in these
trying periods of our country and
States life.
It would be fitting in asnuich as
the state is taking up the matter,
and a number of counties, to fall
ujvOTi sonic plan in our progressive
and loyal county to determine up
on some worthy expression of our
appreciation to our veterans, sol
diers and sacrificing women, of
the ])ast and present. The congre
gation voted unamiously that some
steps should he taken. If you are
interested in this worthy move,
take ii if in your society, ’church,
sc hool and family circle and dis
cuss it. and if you have any help
ful suggestions let them be known.
Doubtless Mr. Faust would be
glad to have a line or a word from
anyone interested in this very im
portant matter and would gladly
help in perfecting any plans for
the forwarding of this fine pur
pose. already in the ascendency in
the minds of Barrow’s Citizens.
