TERRIBLE ITCHING.
Eczema Affected Whole System—Un

fered 4 Tears—Cuticura Cures.
“I suffered severely for four years from
Lpoison oak and ivy. My condition was
werious, as I could not rest night or day
rand be free from a terrible itching sensa
i tion from scratching on my hands between
the fingers, my feet and face. I got the
best of advice and treatment from six dif
ferent doctors who were anxious to cure
me. One of the doctors told me that when
the poison was cured, eczema (a worse
disease) wbuld follow, which became true.
My eyesight was affected, and 1 went to
a hospital especially for the eyes and got
relief, but eczema got a terrible hold on my
system. I was about to give up all hope of
ever being cured, yet I could not be recon
ciled to such results, as my health had been
good and free from any disease all my life.
My age is seventy-three years. In ray ex
tremity I happened to read of Cuticura
Remedies for skin diseases. I was anxious
about rny condition and desired to evade
any spurious imitation. This was in July,
1905, and I called on a certain druggist
for the Cuticura Remedies. I bought five
boxes Cuticura Ointment, also some Cuti
cura Soap and Cuticura Pills as I required
them. In four .weeks' treatment my face
Was smooth, and the itching gradually
left my hands and feet and I could rest
comfortably, for which I am grateful and
happy. W. Field Cowen, Justice of the

An action slander was once
tried before Mr. Justice Stephen, in
which both the parties were employ
ed In Billingsgate. Judge, jury and
counsel for the defendant all revelled
in the humor of the situation. Mr.
H. F. Dickens, K. C., who appeared
for the plaintiff, recognizing that his
client could not possibly gain a ver
dict while the matter was treated as
a joke, made a desperate effort tc
bring out the serious injury which
had been done him. At once Mr. Jus
tice Stephen’s sense of fairness was
aroused. He summed up in favor of
the plaintiff, and the jury did not fail
to adopt his view. When the verdict
was given the learned Judge sent
this note to the plaintiff's counsel:

you for preventing ipe from doing a
great act of injustice.”—Grand Maga

“See that girl with the white

“Yes; what about her?”
“Why, John, ain't she simple?”
“How is she simple, Lucy?”
“Well, you see, John, that—*-er —
why, that is, if you put that arm
around her your black sleeve shows

fever, that I never got over just right. I was weak and hardly able to
get around. The best doctor in DeKalb gave me up and said I could
not get well. Mamma was almost crazy about it. One afternoon a
lady friend came to see me and told mamma to get me a bottle of

just three bottles, when I was relieved and began to get well right off. I kept right on
taking Cardul and now lam well and strong, i feel that I owe my life to Cardul and
