ored guest of the “Joint Convention
of the Southern Music teachers’ As
sociation” and the “Alabama State
Music Teachers’ Association.”
June the 12th and 14th they
Qi >ld a music festival vn the city of
Montgomery and Mrs. Hanna, besides
being an honored guest, will play
the violin in the program of the oc
casion.

MR. .AND MRS. J. R. WRIGHT.

Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Wright went
down to Flovilla Wednesday after
noon and were entertained at tea that
evening by Mrs. Lula Duke at her
cozy little cottage, Mrs. Duke is no
ted for her skill in the culinary art
and a giimpse at her beautiful flower
garden, lovely potted plants, and fine
vegetables is an evidence of her suc
cess in those lines as well.

the engine. Some days will probably
elapse before repairs can be made
and everything put in operation a

ALL DAY SINGING AT FINCH
ERVILLESTH SUNDAY IN JUNE.
We are requested to announce that
there will be an all day singing at
FincherYille on sth Sunday in June,
and as a consequence there will bend
singing on 3rd Sunday afternoon as
was the program.
Everyone is expected to carry a
fried chicken and some cake to help
feed the crowd.

TENDENT OF COTTON MILLS.
Some important changes have been
ma.de in the management of Pepper*
ton Cotton Mills. Mr. Allen former
superintendent goes away, and Mr.
C. B. Gunn is promoted to the super
ship.
Mr. Gunn has lived here several
years and belDg well acquainted
with the operatives is expeoted to
prove to be the right man in the
right place.

Probably the most curious Bible class
In the west of England is that of deaf
mutes which meets near Chalford,
Gloucestershire. All the members are
deprived of their souses of hearing and
speech and have to communicate and
“talk” to each other by means of the
deuf unite alphabet.
