SOCIAL and PERSONAL. Miss Eloise Jones was in town Wednesday. Mrs. J. T. Moore was in the city Tuesday. Mrs. C. A. Butner spent Mon day in Atlanta. Miss Ina Bell Moore is at home from Barnesville. Miss Rosebud Hitchins has re turned to Atlanta. Mr. Homer Carmichael spent Sunday in Atlanta. Mrs. Frank Outhouse spent part of the week in Atlanta. Mr. Paul Collier was up from Indian Spring Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Jolly spent Monday in Jenkinsburg. Mr. Sanders Rowland returned to Decatur Sunday night. Miss Hunt spent the week-end in Decatur with homefolk. Mr. G. R. Ridgeway was a vis itor to the city Wednesday. Mrs. J. H. McCallum has re turned from a visit to Griffin. Captain L. D. Watson returned Monday night from Atlanta. Miss Ethel Redman Tues day with Miss Mervin Jones. Miss Mary McGuffie is visiting friedns in Woodstown this week. Mrs. Bob Thompson of Stark visited Mrs. J. Mrs. A. H. Smith and Mrs. A. C. Smith will spend tomorrow in Atlanta. Dr. B. Goolsby of Forsyth was the guest of friends in the city Monday. Etheridge left Tues day for a visit to Mrs. George Lanier at West Point. Mrs. A. C. Smith is spending this week with Mrs A. H. Smith on Indian Spring street. Mr. Joe Thornton of Tallapoosa was mingling with his many friends here this week. Mrs. Park Newton is in New nan with her father Mr. L. R. Powell who is critically ill. Misses Jennie and Dovie Bryans of Indian Springs spent Tuesday with Mrs. H. L. Daughtry. Mrs. Ida Hendrick is at home from a delightful visit to Mrs. W. E. Cantrell at Emerson. Mrs. Jim Minter of Macon is visiting her sisters, Mrs. 0. B. Willis and Mrs. Lacy Maddox. Harry Butner has returned to Atlanta where he will resume his studies at the Medical college. Miss Lois Biles will come down from Stockbridge tomorrow to spend Sunday with her mother. Mrs. 0. A. Duke and Mrs. An drew Mills of near Jenkinsburg, were shopping in Jackson Thurs day. McKibben Lane has returned to Macon after an extended visit with his grandmother Mrs. Janie McKibben. Mrs. D. J. Thaxton is visiting her sister Mrs. J. M. C. Thaxton who is quite sick at her home near Griffin. Mr. John Lyons has completed the improvements on his cottage and it is now one of the prettiest in the city. Rev. Walstein McCord will re turn Monday from Atlanta where he has been conducting a three weeks meeting. Mrs. Vaud Harris of Pinehurst who has been the guest of Mrs. Cal Meredith is now in Atlanta visiting relatives. Mr. and Mrs. A. F. McMahon have taken rooms with Mrs. S. B. Kinard and will begin house keeping October Ist Miss Saidee Carswell has ac cepted a position in the millinery department of Dannenburg & Cos. and left Saturday for Macon. Miss Wynena McLain the small daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elvin McLain of Savannah is with her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. J. T. McLain. Mr. J. C. Adams has overhaul ed his stxre and it now presents in attractive appearance and he will be glad to have his friends call on him. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph McCord are guests for a few weeks of Mr. and Mrs. Rufus McCord, be fore leaving for their home in New Mexico. Miss E;telle Rutledge has re turned to Atlanta where she will work this fall and her young sis ter Myxtice will attend the public schools there. Mrs. T. M. Furlow will return the first of October from Quincy, Fla where she has been several months for her health which is 1 greatly improved. Miss Romana McLain has re turned to her home in Geneva Florida after spending the sum mer with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. T. McLain. Mr. Walter Meade Crawford is improving after his recent ill ness and is enjoying a short stay with his parents at their country home near Indian Springs. A meeting of the W. C. T. U. will be held at the Methodist church next Friday afternoon at 4 o’clock, when officers will be elected and other business attend ed to. Mr. 0. A. Pound will arrive next week from Grand Rapids to spend several weeks with his | mother. He has many friends | here who will extend him a | hearty welcome. Judge and Mrs. J. F. Carmi chael entertained at a delightful tea a few evenings ago, their j guests including Mr. and Sanders Rowland of Atlanta and Mr. and Mrs. W. P.
