Butts county was not largely represented at the Confederate Reunion in Mobile this week, that occasion being at the same time as Memorial Day here. The Butts Lumber Company has secured the contract for the wood work on the power house of the Central Georgia Power Company’s plant on the Ocmul gee river, securing the contract over several other bidders in ev ery part of the country. Col. Y. A. Wright has been at tending the meeting of* the Grand Chapter and Grand Coun cil in Macon this week. Messrs. John Billie Mays, H. W. Copeland and J. B. Watkins, ar* among these who have recently purchased automobiles in Jackson, which is fast becom ing one of the leading automobile towns in the state.
