LAND SALE TUESDAY IYAS BIG SUCCESS The big land sale Tuesday in Carmichael Park by the Dorough Land Cos., of Royston, was a success in every way, good prices being obtained for this property. The Fifth Regiment band of Atlanta was on hand to liven up matters with excellent music and this feature proved to be a fine drawing card. The auctioneer, Capr. David A. Tay lor. of Rock Springs, S. C., sold the property and maintained his reputation of being one of the best auctioneers in the country. Mr. T. G. Dorough, who was manager of the sale, h ts made many warm friends in Jackson. Government has appropriated SOO,OOO for a postoffice building. The streets have recently been paved with vitrified brick and anew city hospital at a cost of about s3o,ooohas just been completed. Every religious denomination is represented in Griffin, and all of them have handsome houses of worship. The Electric Interurban Hail road from Macon to Atlanta will pass through Griffin, touching West-Moor.
