During the entire period of my service in the House, 1 have been faced by a Republican majority, st rongly ad verse in sentiment and policy to the best interests of the people of my sec tion, but my record here will demon strate that in every word I have spoken and in every vote I have cast, I have had an eye single to the honor and welfare of the people I represent. Whether my duty as a Representative has called me to resist the insidious at tempts that are being constantly made to undermine the sovereign dignity of the States, to oppose the encroacn meats of organized monopoly upon the rights and substance of the people, or to de fend the institutions and glorious tradi tions of our own section, I have re sponded to that call with all the lorce and vigor of my being. They desire to buy and sell at retail and wholesale, dry goods, notions, gro ceries, hardware, buggies, wagons, harness, horses, mules, guano, fertili zers, cotton and all cotton products, and in fact, all kinds of merchandise that can lie bought and sold. They de sire to buy and sell all of said articles for cash or credit, to make and take notes, mortgages, deeds and other se curities and evidences of debt. They desire to buy, sell, rent, lease hold and convey all kinds of property, real, per sonal and mixed. They ask for the right to employ agents in the conduct of their business and act as special and general agents for other firms, persons or corporations. 8. In the conduct of said business, petitioners ask for the right to make such rules, regulations and by-laws as may seem needful to them. To have and use a common seal, to sue and be sued, and to enjoy all tlie privileges, and exercise all the powers granted to corporations by the laws of Georgia, and to do all the necessary and proper acts which pertain to or may lie con nected with the business that said cor poration proposes to conduct. Wherefare petitioners pray that they be made a body corporate, under the name and style aforesaid, entitled to all the rights, privileges and immunities and subject to the liabilities fired by law.
