Gaston is by a large number of the citizen.* of Butts county to make the race for one commissioner for Butts county, to be elected by the people in October next. Mr. Gaston is a man of high charac ted and his record as a county commissioner discloses the fact that he has always conducted himself in a manner to indicate that he regarded himself as the representative of the entire mass es of the people, in full defiance of his critics. No one who has ever filled the place of commis sioner has been more impartial in the discharge of his duties than he has been. He has always stood for the people, and guarded well their interests. He has ad ministered the affairs of the coun ty economically and yet with great wisdom and judgment, pro ducing results that are marvelous when the means at his disposal are considered. The position of county commissioner is a very importrnt one, and the voters of the county should be very care ful who they select to this posi tion, but when a man of charac ter, and ability, and experience of J. 0. Gaston should be sought for to fill the place, and let the people have the benefit of his ripe experience in transacting the business affairs of the county. Aug. 24th, 1910. CITIZEN.
