That they desire for themselves, their associates, successors and assigns to be incorporated under the name and style of i “Thk Jenkinsburg Supply Com pany.” y 2. They desire to be incorporated for a period of twenty years, with the pri\- ilegeof renewal at the expiration of said time. 8. The capital stock of said propos ed corporation is to be Ten 1 liousand Dollars, to be divided into shares of the par valueof One Hundred Dollars each. Petititioners ask the privilege of in creasing said capital stock from time to time, by a majority vote of the stock of said corporation, to a maximum of Fifty Thousand Dollars. 4. The particular business to be car ried on by said proposed corporation is that of a general mercantile business. They desire to buy and sell at retail and wholesale, dry goods, notions, gro ceries, hardware, buggies, wagons, harness, horses, mules, guano, fertili zers, cotton and all cotton products, and in fact, all kinds of merchandise that can be bought and sold. 1 hey de sire to buy and sell all of said articles for cash or credit, to make ami take ifcbtes, mortgages, deeds and other se curities and evidences of debt. I hej desire to buy, sell, rent, lease hold and convey all kinds of property, real, per atonal and mixed. They ask for the right to employ agents in the conduct of their business and act as special and general agents for other firms, persons or corporations. 8. In the conduct of said business, BUTTS COUNTY PROGRESS, JACKSON, GA.,FRIDAY, AUGUST 26, 1910. petitioners ask for the right to make such rules, regulations and by-laws as may seem needful to them. To have and use a common seal, to sue and be sued, and to enjoy all the privileges, and exercise all the powers granted to corporations by the laws of Georgia, and to do all the necessary and proper acts which pertain to or may be con nected with the business that said cor poration proposes to conduct. Wherefare petitioners pray that they be made a body corporate, under the game and style aforesaid, entitled to all the rights, privileges and immunities and subject to the liabilities fixed by law. That they desire for themselves and their associates to be incorporated and made a body corporate under the firm style of “The City* Furniture Company.” 2. That the capital stock of said company shall be sixty-five hundred dollars, divided into shares of one hun dred dollars each, all of which capital stock has been been* paid in in cash or its equivalent. The right is reserved to increase said capital stock by a ma jority vote of the stockholders to any amount not exceeding twenty-five thousand dollars. 8. That the petitioners ask that the charter be granted them for a term of twenty-five years, with the privilege of renewal at the expiration of that time. 4. That the object of said corporation is pecuniary gain to its stockholders. 5. That the business of said corpo ration is to engage in the manufacture, the buying and selling, at retail or wholesale of furniture, coffins, caskets, vaults, etc., and all collateral lines to a general furniture and undertaking bus ness. Bailey, Clerk Superior Court.- CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT Providing a presentation for payment of salary for the Judges of Superior Courts of all Judicial Circuits, etc. By His Excellency Joseph M. Brown, Governor. Atlanta, Ga., Aug. 3, 1910. Whereas, the General Assem bly at its session 1910 proposed an amendment to the Constitu tion of this State, as set forth in an Act approved August G'.n, 1910, to-wit: AN ACT To be entitled an act to amend Paragraph 1 of section 13 of arti cle 6of the Constitution of the State of Georgia regulating the salaries the of Judges of the Su preme and Superior Courts by providing for the payment from the County Treasuries of Chat ham Fulton and Richmond Coun ties to the Judge of the Superior Courts of the Circuits to which said Counties belong, and to the Judge of the Stone Mountain Cir cuit, or the Judge of such other circuit as may hereafter be re quired to regularly preside in Ful ton Superior Court, of additional compensation, and to ratify, val idate and confirm the original and amendatory Acts of the Gen eral Assembly regulating the sal aries of Judges of the Superior Courts of all judicial circuits of the State having therein a City with a population of not less than 54,000 inhabitants, according to the United States Census of 1900, as heretofore enacted, and the Act of the General Assembly reg ulating the compensation of Jud ges of the Superior Court for ser vices rendered outside of their own circuits in those judicial cir cuits of the State having therein a population of not less than than 75,000 inhabitants, accord ing to the Census of 1900. Section I. Be it hereby enac ted by authority of the General Assembly of Georgia that Para graph 1 of Section 13 of Article 6 of the Constitution of the State of Georgia be amended by adding to such paragraph of said Section the following proviso: Provided, however, that the 'Counties of Chatham, Fulton and Richmond shall pay from their respective County treasuries to the Superior Court Judges of the Circuit of which they are a part, and the County of Fulton to the Judge of the Stone Mountain Circuit, or to the Judge of such other Circuit as may hereafter be required to regularly preside therein, for additional services rendered in the Superior Court of Fulton County, such sums as will with the salaries paid each Judge from the State Treasury make a salary of $5,000.00, per annum to each Judge; and said payments are declared to be a part of the Court expenses of such Counties, such payments to be made to the Judges now in of fice as well as to their successors. The act of the General Assem- bly of 1904 entitled “An Act to regulate the salaries'of the Jud ges of the Superior Courts of all Judicial Circuits of this State having, or that may hereafter have, therein a City with a pop ulation of not less than 54,000, nor more than 75,000 inhabit ants and for other purposes,” with the Acts of the General As sembly of 1905 and 1906 amend atory thereof; and also the Act of the General Assembly of 1906 entitled “An Act to Regulasethe Compensatson of Judges of the Superior Courts for services ren dered outside of their own Cir- cuits in those judicial circuits of the State having therein a City of not less than 75,000 inhabit ants according to the Census of 1900 and for other purposes,” which Acts provide for the pay ment from the Treasuries of the Counties confining said Cities to the Judges aforesaid of a part of their salaries, are ratified, validated and confirmed as to the dates of said respective enact ments. Section 11. Be it further en acted by the authority aforesaid, that when the above and fore going amendment has been a greed to by two-thirds of the members of each House of the present General Assembly, it shall be the duty of the Govern or and he is hereby directed to cause the same to be published in one or more newspapers in each Congressional district in this state, two months before the next General election; and the Governor of this State is lur ther required and directed, after having said amendment so pub lished as aforesaid to submit the same to the people at the next General election for the ratifica tion or rejection. The form of such submission shall be as fol lows. to-wit: “For ratification of amend ments to Paragraph 1 Section 13 Article 6 of the Constitution.’ Against ratification of amend ment to Paragraph 1 Section 13 Article 6 of the Constitution. Now, therefore, I, Joseph M. Brown, Governor of said State, do issue this my proclamation, hereby declaring that the fore going proposed amendment to the Constitution is submitted for rat ification or rejection to the voters of the state qualified to vote for members of the General Assem bly at the general election to be held on Wednesday, October sth, 1910.
