BUTTS COUNTY PROGRESS, JACKSON, GA., FRIDAY, FEBRUARY GEORGIA GETTING BATCH OF FREE ADVERTISING The entire state of Georgia is getting a lot of good advertising out of Macon’s fight for the re moval of the capital, and if the Central City wins out, and it now appears that it will, this grand old state will be advertised from one end of the country to another as it never has been before. Recently the state of Oklahoma changed its capital from Guthrie to Oklahoma City and for months the papers of the entire nation were filled with stories of the proposed change. Naturally everybody, no matter with which side they fayor, is an anxious to know all the details concerning the re moval of a capital, and this anxiety is doubly increased when a staid old state like Georgia starts such a movement. Of course, nothing that young and giddy Oklahoma could do would interest the people of the nation half as much as such action by Georgia which is one of the Thirteen original colon.es. New Yorkers are familiar with the issue and are awaiting the outcome with interest. Of course all the nearby Southern states are watching the plucky fight being made by the Central City and evry day the news is going further and further. Recently a returned Western traveler said that h e had heard of the move ment in Denver, a man wrote from Dallas, Texas, asking for buttons and literature, and two Frenchmen touring the South said the project had been dis cussed with interest by many Americans residents of Palis.
