PRICKETT DIED SUNDAY OF PARALYSIS At the ripe old age of 73, Mrs. J. J. Prickett died at her home in this city Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Paralysis from which she had suffered for some time, was the cause of death. Mrs. Prickett was an estima ble Christian lady and had many friends who were pained to learn of her death. Besides her hus band Mrs. Prickett is survived by several sons and daughters. The funeral took place at 11 o’clock Monday morning at Phil adelphia church, Henry county, of which Mrs. Prickett was a de voted member for many years. The family have the sympathy of a wide circle of friends in their deep bereavement. SSOO Prize For The Best Corn Old Men Want to Smash Some County Corn Records Butts county has the corn club fever through and through. The pulse of her people is beating fast with it. The old men are talking of a club among themselves. The plan, as at present discussed, is for one hundred men to give $5 each, making a stake of SSOO, the winner to get the whole of it. Others want some second and third prizes. The movement is only in the making now but it is certain that stimulated by the results of the boys corn club con tests the old men are going to try to batter down some records next year. It has been suggested that pri zes be given for the best yields of corn, wheat and oats, while some want a prize for the best acre of cotton. MR. W. B. McMICHAEL SUFFERS SFIOUS INJURY His friends will be pained to learn that Mr. W. B. McMichael son of Mrs. McCune Michael, of this city, suffered the loss of his left foot in an accident which oc curred in Birmingham Saturday. The injury was so serious that physicians amputated the limb Sunday. Mr. McMichael was in the employ of the Seaboard Air Line Railway at the time of the accident. Ga., Oct. 17.—Practi cally all the leading officers of the Georgia National Guard with headquarters in Atlanta are plan ning today to attend the meeting of the National Guard association of the state, which will be held in Macon Saturday, the 19th. The meeting was called by Major Claude C. Smith, president of the association, and he will be there in person to occupy the chair. This is the annual meet ing, and many matters will be discussed. Principal among these will be the army pay bill, now pending in congress. Addresses will be made on various military subjects by members of the mili tia, and by U.
