Section 78. Each and every person, firm or partnership doing or carrying on the business of cleaning and press ing clothes shall pay a tax of $2.50. Section 79. Each and every person, firm, partnership or corporation con ducting a wood yard shall pay a tax of $5. Section 80. Each person, firm or partnership standing a jack or stud horse shall pay a tax of $lO. Section 81. Each person, firm or cor poration selling or dealing in sewing machines shall pay a license fee of $lO provided this is not to apply to those holding a furniture dealers license. Section 82. Each bonding, liability and fidelity company shall pay a tax of $lO. Section 83. Each person, firmorcor poration running automobiles for hire shall pay a tax of $lO for each automo bile. Section 84. Each person, fi rm or cor poration running bowling and box ball alleys shall pay a tax of $25. Section 85. Each person, firm or cor poration operating a pool room shall pay a tax of SSO for each table. Section 86. Each dealer in scrap iron shall pay a tax of $5. Section 87. Each person or persons doing a bakery business shall pay a tax of $2.50. Section 88. Each person or persons owning or operating a garage shall pay a tax of $lO. Section 89. Each person owning or operating a one-horse hack shall pay a tax of $5. Section 90. Each person operating a two-liorse hack shall pay a tax of $lO. Section 91. Each peddler or vender of merchandise or fruits shall pay a tax of SSO per year. Section 92. Each boarding house which takes transient boarders except delegates to conventions when held in the city shall pay a tax of 15. Section 93. Each nonresident deal er, agent or other person selling pianos Or organs shall pay a tax of $25 per an num. Section 04. Each and every person or jrersons known as drivers or traders or itinerant sellers eitheir at private or auction or offering for sale or t rade any stock within the limits of the city of Jackson shall pay in advance $5 per day every day they are so engaged in said business, unless carried on within the. enclosure of some regularly licens ed livery, feed or sale stable of said city. All telegraph compa nies doing a local business, that is, sending or receiving messages between points in this state shall pay a tax of $25. Section 101. Each agentselling tomb stones or monuments in said city shall pay a license of $5. This shall not ap ply to a person operating a marble yard as designated in section 72. Section 102. Each firm or individual not having been a resident of the city for at least six months conducting a fire, wreckage, marine or bankrupt or special sale of merchandise of any kind shall pay a license of SSO. Section 103. Each railway or rail road company doing business by han dling freight and passengers from points in the state and charging therefor shall pay a license of SSO. Section 104. Bootblack stands not inside of a building, to be located by chief of police, each chair $5. Section 105. Each fire, life, accident or other insurance agent shall pay $5. Section 106. Each person or persons operating a moving picture show shall pay a license of $5 per year. Section 107. Each person, firm, com pany or corporation selling or offering for sale automobiles shall pay a tax of !j' i . 50. Section 108. Each person, firm, com pany or corporation selling automobile supplies shall pay a tax of $2.50. Section 109. Be it ordained by the mayor and council of the city of Jack soli and it is hereby ordained by the authority of the same, that from and after this date any person, firm, com pany or corporation in said city selling, keeping for sale or giving away to in duce trade, cigarettes, cigarette papers or any substitute therefor shall pay a tax of SSO. Section 110. Be it further ordained by the authority aforesaid, that any person, firm, company or corporation subject to the foregoing ordinances who shall fail or refuse to register his busi ness with the clerk of said city and pay the tax required by the same on or be fdre the 10th day of February, 1913, shall be subject to a fine of not less than $1 nor more than $lO for each clay such person, firm, eompany or corporation shall do business without having com plied with the requirements of these ordinances, or be confined in the guard house and worked on the streets of said city not less than five nor more than ten days, one or both, in the discretion of the mayor; provided that nothing in this section shall be construed to repeal or interfere with penalties imposed for ;a violation of sections 67, 109, 110, 111 and 112 of these ordinances; provided further that the same shall apply to all persons, firms, companies or corpo rations becoming subject to shese ordi nances and who may commence busi ness in said city during the year 1913 ! or prior to the 10th day of February, ■ 1913. Section 111. Be it ordained [by the mayor and council of the city of Jack son, that from and after the passage of this ordinance it shall be unlawful for any person, firm, company or corpora tion to keep for the purpose of illegal sale any domestic wines, cider, or any intoxicating drinks of any kind. Any person found guilty of violating this ordinance shall be subject to a fine of not less than $25 nor more than SIOO, or shall be confined in the guard house not less than 20 nor more than 60 days or Ire required to work on the streets of said city not less than 20 nor more than 60 clays, one or both, in the discretion of the mayor. Section 112. It appearing to the mayor and council of the city of Jack son that a majority of the people are in favor of keeping hogs in the city, un der strict sanitary rules, be it resolved as follows: That any person who keeps a hog in the corporate limits of said city is required to keep it in a pen not less than 80 feet square or as near square as practicable, and if the number is in creased, the size of the pen is to be cor respondingly increased, so as to con tain not less than 900 square feet of ad ditional space for each additional hog contained in the same. And no" one will be allowed to keep stock hogs or breed hogs within the city limits. Nei their will they be allowed to keep the size of the pen or enclosure. Any per son owning or keeping a hog as above set out, shall at all times keep the pen of same in good sanitary condition and a ring in the nose of the hog. No hog to be kept in a closed pen. The owner of any hog or hogs who fails to comply with the above conditions shall be fin ed, or said hog or hogs declared a nui sance, and removed from the city at expense of the owner, one or both, in the discretion of the mayor. (The mayor and council believe that filthy hog pens are a great menace to the good health of the people and most respectfully ask all to join in and keep the city as free as possible from this menace, and it is to be hoped that there will be many who will not keep hogs at all and those who keep them at all will keep as few as possible to consume the waste slops about the premises. It is to the interest of all that this be done.) Section 113. Be it ordained by the mayor and council of the city of Jack son and it is hereby ordained by said authority that from and after the pas sage of this ordinance whenever appli cation is made for a hack license the applicant shall designate whether he wishes a license to serve white or col ored passengers, and when he obtains a license to carry and transport white passengers he cannot under the same license carry or transport colored pas sengers. Where the applicant shall take out a license to carry or transport colored passengerrs he cannot under the same license carry or transport colored pas sengers. Any person or persons viola ting this ordinance shall upon convic tion be subject to a fine of not less than $5 nor more than $25 or shall be coff fined in the guard house not less than 5 nor more than 25 days, or be requir ed to work on the streets of said city not less than 5 nor more than 25 clays, one or both in the discretion of the mayor. Section 114. Be it further ordained, that it shall be the special duty of the marshals to see to the enforcement of these Ordinances and report all viola tions to the mayor and council; and on failure to discharge this duty shall be subject to a fine or be removed from office, in the discretion of the mayor and council.
