BLOUNT The farmers around here are about done laying-by their crops. Mr. Bud Gilmore of Henry county spent last week with his sister, Mrs. C. B. Standard. Rosis Johnson and Miss Beck Flint of below Forsyth are visit ing their aunt, Mrs. J. J. Reeves. The General Meeting at Paron church Friday and Saturday was largely attended and a good din ner was served each day. Mrs. Ellen Castleberry is vis iting in Alabama this week. Charlie Gilmore has returned home from south Georgia. Miss Carrie Reeves is visiting her aunt, Mrs. Laura Reeves, Wilmer Garrand Miss Florence Etheridge visited, the springs last Saturday afternoon. Wood. 7-25-tf Tribute to Little Child I i On last Thursday, July 17th, God in His infinite mercy visited the home of Mr. and Mrs. Sam McMichael and took their little daughter, Mildred. She was just eight months and three weeks old. We do not understand why God saw fit to remove her from us so early, but we have one sweet assurance that the Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away. We are sure that today she is swinging on the pearly gates awaiting her father and mother. There is one sweet assurance for you father and mother, you cannot bring the child back to you, but you can so live in this life that you can go to her. The funeral services were held at Stark M. STARK Avery sad event of last week was the death of the infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sam McMichael. The child had been very sick for some time with whooping cough and died Thurs day. The funeral was held at Stark Methodist church and was conducted by Rev. M. S. Williams of Jackson. The parents have a large number of friends and rel atives to sympathize with them in their great bereavement. Mr. and Mrs. L. D. Singley had as their guests Sunday all their children, Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Gresham, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Nosworthy, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Long, Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Sing ley. Mr. and Mrs. Dink O’Neal spent Thursday with their sister and brother, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Jones, in Jackson. Mr. and Mrs. Franklin L*uke and family spent. Monday with their parents, Mr. and W. D. Hoard. Cedar Rock people had their annual picnic at Indian Springs Saturday. They honored the Stark people with an invitation. Mrs. John McClure spent last week with her daughter, Mrs. Nora Smith, near Flovilla. Farmers here are enjoying the rain for a season.
