CITY ELECTION PROVED A VERY QUIET AFFAIR Fifteen stalwart sons of Dem ocracy marched to the polls and voted in the city election Wed nesday. The reason more stal wart sons of said Democracy did not vote was due to the fact that they did not think about it, hav forgotten that an election was in progress. The election was one of the very q uietest in years. The nom - inees in the primary of Decem ber 29 would doubtless have ap preciated a larger vote, but they are elected .just the same as if they had received a million ballots. Council met Wednesday after the close of the polls and declar ed the result of the election. At the meeting next Monday night it is likely the work of the past year will be gone over and plans for 1914 mapped out. Mayor i PROPRIETORS OF Watkins will appoint his various committees, a mayor pro terr. will be elected and officers to serve the city chosen, JENKINSBURG Mr. and Mrs. George Farrar, of Atlanta, visited their parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Farrar, last week. Miss Annie Reid Harper re turned home Wednesday after a delightful visit to her cousin. Miss Carrilu Harper. Misses Bell Pitts and Florence Morrison after spending the holi days at home have resumed their duties at Jenkinsburg high school. Miss Brinkley, of Warrenton, fills the vacancy at school caused by the marriage of Miss Felicia Morrison. Rev. Z. E. Barron filled his ap pointment at Sardis Saturday and Sunday.
