ANNUAL MEETING OF FAKMKS BANK THE 7 The annul meeting of the the First Far mers Bank <f this city will be held next Tesday, July 7. At that time drectors and officers will be elecbd for the ensuing year and otter matters of busi ness attendd to. This will le the second annual meeting of the First Farmers Bank, whicl began business here the first of uly 1912. It is un derstood the bank will make a good showirg at the annual meet ing. Since i started business the First Farmes Bank has grown to be one ofthe leading financial institutions )f the county. It has a strong boat'd of directors and the officers are all well kgown and suecess’ol business men. JENONSBURG Miss Clhton Woodward, of Louisiana, s visiting her cousin, Miss Willie Woodward. Mrs. Charlie Moore and chil dren, of Atlanta, are visiting friends and relatives here. Miss Mary Manning has re cently returned from Macon where she visited her cousin, Mrs. Robert Britain. Mrs. George Dudney and little son, Arthur Donald, have re turned to their home near Macon after an extended visit to her sister, Mrs. E. A. Cawthon. Miss Hattie Compton is visit ing Miss Carrie Lou Harper for several days. Among those who motored to Indian Springs Sunday afternoon were: Messrs. J. H. Mills, A. B. Stallsworth, Jim Gray, E. A. Cawthon, W. B. Whitaker, Miss es Hattie Compton, Carrie Lou Hamer, and Messrs. Grady Phil ips and Chester Harris. Mrs. E.. A. Cawthon spent three days of last week in Zebu lon attending the Woman’s Mis sionary Meeting of Griffin Dis trict. She reports a very enthu siastic meeting. Hon. J, H. Mills, our represen tative from Butts county spent the week end at home. Mrs. J. D. Philips has as her guests now Mrs. W. 0. Steele and little son, of Atlanta. Mr. Steele also spent the week end here. Master Blanton Alexander, of Atlanta, is visiting his grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Al exander. Mr. and Mrs. Hunter Manning and little son will arrive Tuesday night to be the guest of relatives and friends here during his sum mer vacation. They are now in Charleston, S. C.. on a pleasure trip but will leave Monday after noon. Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Wood ward, of Atlanta, after an ex tended visit out west and several days stay at Hot Springs are the guests of their parents here. The singing at Sardis last Sun day afternoon was quite a suc cess. It was largely attended by people from far and near. The singing was especially good, we think better than ever before. We were very glad to have so many good singers present. We cordially invite them to come again. The Sunday school at Sardis is still improving. The attendance is especially good. We have a new supply of literature and hope that those who come to the Sun day school will get them a book and study the word of God. The Sunday school is better than ever before. We know that some of the Christians have been working and praying. We need more workers and prayers. We hope to have our Sunday school the best in the county and if we all strive to make it the best we will succeed through the help of God. We will have our annual meeting in August. Let us all go to work for the call of Christ. Go out after the lost sheep and bring them in. If we build up our Sunday school and church we have built up our com munity also. Car Watermelons fresh. His sermon was enjoyed by all present. Miss Ruth Middlebrooks has recently returned from a visit to her grandfather, Mr. Brown, near Forsyth. PRIZE DRILL OF RIELES SET FOR JULY THE 14 The Jackson Rifles are planning a prize drill for July 14 to be held at the school auditorium. The company medal now held by Lieut McClure and other articles of value, probably sls in cash, will be given to the winners. Ad mission will be 15 and 25 cents and the proceeds will be used to defray part of the expenses to the Augusta camp. It is likely that Major Wheeler and Lieuts.
