: Butts County News : WORTHVILLE. V Mr. and Mrs. Lory Hardy spent Thursday and Friday with Mr. and Mrs. Dan Swint. Mrs. G. L. Washington, Misses Cleo Washington and Jewel Mae Akin were guests of Mr. and Mrs. P. P. Johnson Sunday. Mrs. Joe Hammond complimen ted the young people with a sing ing Saturday night. Mrs. Jene Martin spent Satur day with Mrs. W. F. Stodghill. Miss Grace Thaxton spent the week-end with Miss La Rue Pope. Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Kitchens and Mr. Ambrose were guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. L. L, Washington. Mr: and Mrs. R. A. Thaxton and children of Jackson spent Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. Lon Gray. Mr. J. H. Pope and Ralph Stodghill are on the sick list this week. Mr. and Mrs. John Chambers and children spent Sunday with the family of Mr. Harrison Caw thon. Messrs. Cleveland Akin, Carl Thaxton, J. S. Jackson and B. H. Hodges were up from the dam Saturday night. Mrs. J. W. Lofton and children spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Carl Mitchell. Messrs. Roy and Ray Chaffin were over from Jasper Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Maddox and children spent the week-end with the family of Mr. Will Chambers. Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Pope spent Saturday in Jackson. Mr. Alex King spent the week end here. Mrs. Jim Duke and Albert Duke spent a part of last week in Atlanta. Mr. JackLeverette of Jenkins burg attended prayer meeting at Macedonia Sunday night. For they are indeed bright and full of hope. Mr. Tom McClure died at his home Saturday night. The in terment took place Monday morn ing at Macedonia where he had been a faithful member for many years. The funeral was conduc ted by Rev. Z. E. Barron. Several from here attended the singing at Sandy Creek church Sunday. Rev. Mr. Dodson, a former pastor of the Methodist church, spent the week-end with his many friends here. He preached to a large congregation on Sunday Miss Inez Brinkley spent Fri day night with Miss Nelle Millen at Flovilla and attended the play, “Miss Fearless and Company,” given at the auditorium of the Flovilla school Friday evening. Mr. Wade Hammond spent Sunday with his daughter, Mrs. Howard Childs. Mrs. Mary Bailey and daughter Miss Lillian spent a few days of last week in Atlanta.
