Place in sau cers or other shallow vessels on top of the wheat a tablespoonful of the liquid for every two or three bushels of grain. Cover over the barrels or boxes with sacks or quilts and let stand for a few days. The liquid evapo rates, and, beipg heavier than air, the vapor goes downward and kills all the insects. Is there any danger in eating flour made from this wheat? Not one bit. At the 'Agricultural School last year the wheat was not threshed for several weeks after it was harvested and was seriously damaged when we threshed it. We then treated it with carbon-bisfulfide. One hun dred people ate the flour and it didn’t kill anyone. We find wee vils are getting into the wheat this year and today are treating it Millions of people have eaten biscuit and corn bread made from grain treated for weevils and no one has been injured. Atlanta Southern railway sending it to the mil). There is one caution: Carbon bisulfide is very inflammable and no one should strike a match, smoke or carry a lantern while in a room where grain is being treated. Every farmer should examine his wheat often and as soon as weevils appear he should treat it. It may be necessary to treat it a second time in a few weeks. Peas, corn, and other grain can be treated just as is recommend ed for wheat. My father always mixed china-berry leaves with his wheat. Many believe the leaves will prevent damage from weevils. We are testing that remedy here. We have found worms in some flour ground three or four weeks ago. In sending wheat off to the mills to be ground into flour only a few bushels should be sent at a time. Beautiful iine of White Summer Hats going at half price. Carmichael-Mallet Cos.
