OF INTEREST IN THE
— SOCIAL REALM
VACATION
By Ralph Methven Thompson
Although aware when summer comes,
That you, the partner of my breast,
With whom I’d share the last few crumbs,
Are going off, somewhere, to rest; —
\
And notwithstanding that repose
May do your weary body good,
After your fight against all woes,
After the cares you have withstood —
It seems, while we for many a year
Have walked together on this loam,
I cannot grow accustomed, dear,
To having you away from home.
