Disposed of
For the murder of Bud Baker
on the streets of Jackson a few
weeks ago, Tom Ish received a
life sentence at the hands of
Judge Searcy in Butts snperior
court this week. The jury re
turned a verdict of guilty with a
recommendation and the Court
imposed a life sentence.
Up to Thursday morning the
following criminal cases, in ad
dition to the Ish case, had been
passed on:
Jack Vickers, gaming, eight
months or S4O.
Boy Norris, gaming, eight
months or S4O.
Dilsy Maddox, arson, not guilty
Wade Ridgeway, assault to
murder, twelve months or SIOO.
Stephen Head, concealed pis
tol, twelve months or S6O.
Eugene Cochran, concealed
pistol, two counts, twelve months
or S7O.
Orange Bell, larceny, twelve
months or SIOO.
Calvin Gunn, larceny, ten
months or SSO.
Gig Slaton, pistol, two counts,
ten months or SSO.
John Harkness, disturbing di
vine worship, six months or $25.
John Sims, disturbing divine
worship, six months or $25.
Very little civil business was
transacted this week.
It is not known now if Judge
Searcy will order an adjourned
term, though such a step is con
sidered probable.
