Master Frank Roberts, of Ma con, is visiting his aunt, Mrs. J. W. Carmichael. Mrs. Verna Wright and children motored to Covington Sunday for the day with relatives. Mrs. L. D. Watson returned Saturday from a delightful visit to relatives in Griffin. Mrs. Gordon Carmichael and little son were recent guests of Mrs. D. N. Carmichael. Miss Annie Crawford spent Sunday in Locust Grove with Dr. and Mrs. R. L. Crawford. Messrs. Ralph Jamerson and Paul Crawley, of Atlanta, were visitors to the citv Sunday. Mrs. T. H. Buttrill was the re cent guest of her sister, Miss Emmie Durden, in Atlanta. Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Ham, of Forsyth, were week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Hencely. Miss Davie Fletcher gave the pupils of the fifth grade a picnic at Indian Springs on last Satur ! day. Mrs. C. R. Gresham has re turned from a pleasant visit to her niece, Mrs. W. B. Roper, in Atlanta. Mrs. Pitts McKibben and chil dren, Frances and Pitts, Jr., left Sunday for a visit to relatives in Tallapoosa. Mr. Thornton Buchanan, of Birmingham, is the guest of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Buchanan. Mrs. J. A. Joyner and Miss Kathleen Joyner returned Sunday from a visit with relatives in College Park. Prof. R. E. Park, of Athens, will deliver the literary address at the closing exercises of the public schools. Mr. and Mrs. Olin Kimbell and children, of McDonough, were guests last week-end of Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Kim bell. Mr. and Mrs. A. Homer Car michael and little daughter, Mar jorie, of Atlanta have been guests of Mrs. J. R. Carmichael this week. The Sunday school pupils of Misses Ada Sams and Lillian Bailey were complimented with a delight ful picnic at Mays pas ture, Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Mallet re turned Sunday evening from Moultrie where they attended the convention of the County School Superintendents. The many friends of Mrs. Clay ton Buchan nan will be pleased to hear of her improvement at the city hospital, after a very serious illness Macon Telegraph. Mrs. T. M. Mrs. Morrison Settle returned Tuesday from a visit to Atlanta, where she was the guest of Miss Rachael Beck, whose marriage will be an interqsting event of June 7th. • It will be of interest to the friends of Prof. M. 0. McCord to know that he has been elected and has accepted the position of superintendent of the Manchester public schools. Messrs. H. M. Fletcher, F. M. Allen and J. B. Brought about medical exami nation of all children in the school. Contributed tables, chairs and cooking utensils for Domestic Science department. Furnished shades for windows of grammar school rooms and new heater for chapel. Placed thermometer and new scrap baskets in every school room. Helped in equipping laboratory. Furnished busy work material to first grade. Bought gardening tools for the children’s school gardens. Provided current literature for reading room. Added 25 new books to school library. It has been the means of bringing parents and teachers in closer touch with each other and brought about mutual help and understanding on the part of both teachers and parents.
