via plane from a five day visit

michael are happy to learn of
improvement in her condition at
Piedmont Hospital where she un
derwent recent serious surgery.

Dr. and Mrs. Joe Lister and
children, Stevie and Kimberly,
recently moved to Jackson and
are making their home at 537
East Third Street.
Friends of Tony Grant are de
lighted to learn that he returned
home Monday from St. Joseph’s
Hospital, Atlanta, where he was
hospitalized about two weeks with
a broken leg. He is able to be
out on crutches.

who remembered me while in the
hospital, as well as since return
ing home, with flowers, visits,
phone calls, and other kind deeds.

Devils” Are

Jackson has another team that
need not take a back seat to the
Green Hornets or anyone else for
that matter. It is the Bth Grade
Little Devils coached by Jimmy
Hardy and Harold Smith .
In three games played to date,
Jackson has defeated Manchester
13-6; Gray 40-0; and Forsyth 39-
6. The next home game will be
October 23rd at 5 o’clock against
Newton County.

Quarterback Mark Maddox, all
79 pounds of him, for superb ball
handling and play calling. He has
also kicked two PATs. Other
Jackson players scoring include

Darrell Kitchens, James Dupree,
Eddie Clark, Jerry Greer, and
Joe Goodman.
STANLEY BALL NAMED
SCIENCE CLUB OFFICER
Carrollton, Ga.—Stanley Ball,
son of Eugene Ball of Jackson,
was recently named first vice
president of the History and Po
litical Science Club.
Any student interested in the
promotion of the study of history
or political science and the de
velopment of citizenship is eligi
ble for membership in this club.
The officers of the organization
are constitutionally required to
be history or political science
majors. At bi-monthly meetings
the programs consist of forums,
lectures, tours and pictures.

Joseph’s Hospital and since re

Adopt
New By-Laws
Members of the Jackson Ki
wanis Club Tuesday night voted
to adopt new by-laws that were
| recommended at the Kiwanis In
j ternational Convention during
I the summer in Toronto.
The by-law changes were read
and explained by Ralph Carr Jr.,
club secretary, who was one of
the Jackson delegates, along with
Hugh Glidewell, to the interna
tional meeting. Bailey Crockarell
was program chairman and pre
sented Mr. Carr.

per on November sth at the
school lunchroom. A highlight of
the fall season will be the Ladies
Night meeting October 29th at
which Dr. Henry T. Malone will
be the feature speaker. Mr. Ma
lone is a former governor of the
Georgia Kiwanis District.
John Schroeder was welcomed
as anew member. E'd Hoard rep
resented the Key Club. Levi Ball
was saluted musically on his
birthday during the week.

SATURDAY NIGHT

urday night, Oct. 5, at the Com
munity House. Mrs. Jean King
was in charge of the program,

Times.” At the close of the meet
