RECIPE FOR DIVINE
GUIDANCE
In all thy ways acknowledge
Him and lie shall direct thy
paths. Prov. 3:6. This passage of
scripture gives us a recipe for
divine guidance. It points out
clearly what we are to do if we
would be properly directed. If
we would walk in the paths of
righteousness the Bible tells us
that there is a way. This passage
requires that we acknowledge
Him not just in part of our ways,
part of the time but in all of
our ways all of the time.
The first requirement is that
we acknowledge Him as Savior
and Lord of our life. This is a
must. Anew birth is necessary,
a total dedication of our life is
essential as it involves our time,
our talents, our testimony and
our money. We must acknow
ledge Him in the use of our time.
It all belongs to Him. This time
that he has given us should be
used to honor Him on the Sab
bath, it should be used to honor
Him in our time spent with His
Word, the Bible. Some of this
time should be spent in prayer.
Some of it should be spent in
telling others about Christ and
His salvation.
Again we should Honor the
Lord in the use of our talents.
Our voices, our skills, our abil
ities. After all we would not have
any talents except the Lord had
given them to us. Sadly, some of
the greatest talents are used in
such ways as would never remote
ly suggest honoring God.
And now the touchy point of
honoring the Lord with money.
Many professing Christians fail
miserably at this point and be
come embezzlers against God.
Who is the biggest crook in Jack
son? The person who cheats and
robs almighty God. Many Chris
tians spend more for cigarettes
than they do for the cause of
Christ. Others spend more on ab
solute trivials such as gum, candy
and Cokes than they give to the
Kingdom work.
We must acknowledge the Lord
with the testimony of our life.
Of course we first have to know

Him as Savior. This means more
than merely being a Church
member, it means having Him as
our own personal Savior. Every
man who knows Christ as Savior
should have a live testimony to
be shared with the world. Do we
acknowledge Him with our testi
mony as we ought? Does your
conversation acknowledge Him?
Does your faithfulness to His
Church acknowledge Him? Does
your everyday relationships with
people acknowledge Him? Do you
acknowledge Him in your hus
band-wife relationships? Do you
acknowledge Him in your paren
tal relationship? How about with
your friends, relatives and neigh
bors?
How wonderful it would be if
all men everywhere would seek
daily to acknowledge the Lord in
all their ways. More specifically
let’s begin with ourselves and
seek daily to acknowledge Him
in all our ways.

THE CHURCH FOR ALL . . .
... ALL FOR THE CHURCH
The Church Is the greatest
factor on earth for the building
of character and good citizen
ship. It Is a storehouse of spirit
ual values. Without a strong
Church, neither democracy nor
civilization can survive. There
are four sound reasons why
•very person should attend ser
vices regularly and support the
Church. They are: (1) For his
own sake. (2) For his children's
sake. (3) For the sake of his
community and nation. (4) For
the sake of the Church itself,
which needs his moral and ma
terial support. Plan to go to
church regularly and read your
Bible daily.

No. It’s just a rope ... at the breaking point. But,
frankly, it’s a good illustration of how a man feels when
his nerves are “worn to a frazzle.”
The Church has never claimed that religion is a cure
for frazzled nerves. But a man’s Christian faith does
this for him:
It shows him a Purpose in life more important than
mere existence. It shows him a Power more effective
than his own strength. It shows him a Future more re
warding than selfish gain. And it gives him courage
more lasting than the sheer force of his human will.
With these spiritual resources, founded in the cer
tainty that God understands and helps, a man never
reaches “the breaking point.” For when his human re
serve is exhausted ... he has only begun to tap the vast
reservoir of Divine Strength.
