Traffic safety in and around
Jackson High and Elementary
School has been strengthened con
siderably within the past few
days with the swearing in of PTA
members as policewomen and re
activation of the School Boy Pa
trol.
Jackson Mayor C. B. Brown,
Jr. praised Mrs. Arthur T. Bos
well and Mrs. Carl Brack for
their role in inaugurating the
added safety measures around
the local schools. Mrs. Boswell
and Mrs. Brack have already been
sworn in and other PTA mem
bers will be at an early date.
According to Mayor Brown, these
policewomen, in reality an aux
iliary officer, have authority to
make cases for speeding, running
stop signs, wreckless driving, etc.
just as does a regular policeman.
In other words, Mr. Brown con
tinued, they will have jurisdic
tion over all traffic violations.
C. M. Daniel, Jr., police chair
man on the Aldermatic Board,
lauded Mrs. Boswell for her ef
forts in organizing the School
Boy Patrol which now boasts
some 20 boys and girls on patrol
duty at the school with three on
duty in buses. Both Mr. Brown
and Mr. Daniel suggest that at
least five women from the PTA
be sworn in as policewomen so
that one can be on duty at the
school each morning.
Mayor Brown and Councilman
Daniel urge the citizens to give
the School Boy Patrol their full
est cooperation and made it clear
that the Mayor and Council will
back the patrol and the police
women in their efforts to more
safely enforce traffic conditions
in and around the school.

(to give you a choice)
Throughout the ages it has always been difficult finding the right words or a
meaningful way to say something special to that someone special.
Now we offer you two of the easiest ways of communication:
1. With Wells silver and gold jewelry for both men and women.
2. With an "I AM LOVED” button. It's free of charge here at your "I AM
LOVED” headquarters. It says a lot, too.
The button will never replace Wells "I AM LOVED” jewelry in precious
metals. But it does serve as a gentle reminder until the real thing comes along.
