UNDER POWER

By virtue of the powers of
sale contained in the security
deed from CLED MOSS to HOOD
OIL COMPANY, dated March 1!),
1965, recorded in Deed 30, Page
270, Butts County Records, and
a certain guarantee to the HOOD
OIL COMPANY for full payment
of any and all indebtedness of
GERALDINE WATSON, d/b/s
WATSON GROCERY AND SER
VICE STATION, for any amounts
arising thereunder subject to said
security deed as security for said
obligation, there will be sold by
the undersigned at public outcry
to the highest bidder for cash,
before the courthouse door in
Butts County, Georgia, within the
legal hours of sale on the first
Tuesday in August, 1969, the fol
lowing described property:
All that tract or parcel of land
lying and being in Butts County,
Georgia, and being one acre of
the land deeded to Grantor by
Thomas H. Price and Flora Up
church Price by deed dated Aug
ust 18, 1964 and recorded in
Deed Book 30, Page 170, Butts
County, Georgia records and
more particularly described as
follows:
Beginning at a point and cor
ner formed by the West line of
Grantor’s property and U. S. Hwy.
2.'!, running thence in an easterly
direction along the southerly side
of I'. S. Hwy. 23 a distance of 210
feet, thence in a southerly direc
tion 210 feet; thence in a wester
ly direction 210 feet; and thence
210 feet in a northerly direction
along the westerly line of Gran
tor’s property to 11. S. Highway
23 and the point of beginning.
Same being improved property
with a service station building
thereon.
The foregoing described pro
perty is a portion of the property
known as Tract 3 of property of
Thomas H. Price and Flora Up
church Price, Jenkinsburg, in
615th District G. M. Butts Coun
ty, Ga., according to a Plat pre
pared by E. M. Smith, Registered
land surveyor, dated July 25,
1 !H>4, copy of said plat recorded
in Plat Book 1, Page 201 in the
office of the Clerk, Butts Coun
ty, Georgia.
Notice has been given of in
tention of collect attorney’s fees
in accordance with the terms pro
vided in the security deed. The
indebtedness secured by said se
curity deed is in default by vir
tue of the failure to pay certain
of the indebtedness when due
and said indebtedness has been
declared due in full, said prop
erty will be sold as the property
of Cled Moss and the proceeds of
said sale will be applied to the
payment of the expenses of said
sale, outstanding taxes and/or as
sessments, attorney’s fees, and to
the payment of said indebtedness,
all as provided in said deed and
the undersigned will execute a
deed to the purchaser at said
sale as provided in the aforemen
tioned deed to secure debt.

Friends of Franklin Cawthon
are sorry to learn that his con
dition remains serious at the
Veterans Hospital in Atlanta
where he was carried last Sat
urday.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Brooks
Jr. have recently returned from
Kitzengen, Germany where they
visited with SP/5 and Mrs. Doug
las Brooks. The two couples
toured Germany, Austria, and
Switzerland for several days. Be
fore arriving in Germany Mr.
and Mrs. Brooks spent some time
in London and during their stay
were also entertained by Sgt. and
Mrs. Chester Walters of North
Carolina.

Tommy Glidewell of Jackson
was one of three golfers tied for
the lead in the State Jaycee Golf
Tournament over Macon’s Bow
den Golf Course after the first
day of play on Tuesday.
Tommy, one of this area’s fin
est junior golfers, shot a two
over par 74 to deadlock him for
the lead with J. W. Dorney of
Forsyth and Latimer Heard of
Elberton.
One stroke back at 75 were
Mike Fambrugh of Valdosta, Bill
Johnston of Savannah, and Bobby
Hoyt of Rome.
Other contestants from Jack
son who qualified for the Jaycee
tournament are Bill Nelson and
William Barnes. In the tourney
at Deer Trail Golf Club in Jack
son, Glidewell and Nelson tied
with a 71, one stroke under par.

In accordance with an Ordinance of long standing,
each person or family keeping house within the city limits
of Jackson is required to keep and maintain a closed recep
tacle for the disposal of garbage.
Stricter enforcement of this Ordinance will begin im
mediately. Violators of this Ordinance are subject to a fine
or other punishment in discretion of the Mayor.
Beginning August Ist all garbage cans with bottoms
out or any that do not comply with regulations will be
picked up.
The Mayor and City Council ask your full cooperation
in compliance with this Ordinance, which, if given, will
mean quicker and more efficient service of garbage collec
tion, and better sanitary conditions in your city.
