ation of Covington, Georgia,
which note with interest thereon
at the rate of 6V2 per cent per

The most refreshing buildings
are all-electric.
As well as the most modern ones. You wouldn’t expect
The Coca-Cola Company to have an old-fashioned
building. They’ve got a best-seller and this
building looks it.
Maybe you have something to sell, too. Or an image
to keep. Whatever you do you’ll do better in an
all-electric building.
All-electric buildings usually cost less to build and
maintain. And when a building uses only electricity,
it almost always costs less to operate.
Want to learn more about what electricity can do for
your business? Visit one of the more than 7,720 all
electric commercial buildings in Georgia. Or see a
commercial representative at Georgia Power. The
Coca-Cola Company did. And they ought to know
what’s refreshing.

Winning Note
BY STEVE BALL
AND ALFRED WATKINS
Robert Henderson, the Tigers
surprise sensation, carried the
offensive load against the West
side High Red Devils Saturday
night, November 1. Henderson
scored both of the touchdowns
in the Tigers homecoming victory
over the Red Devils by a score
of 13 to 6.
The Tigers scoring began in
the first quarter with 6:00 re
maining. After driving down to
the Red Devil 12, Robert was
called upon. He responded ex
cellently by scoring the touch
down due to some great blocking.
The PAT was kicked by Ollie
Woodard. The Red Devils were
not down for long. They came
back and scored what was to be
their only touchdown of the
game. Their conversion attempt
was no good. With 3:06 remain
ing, the Tigers took the ball and
carried to the Red Devil 18. Hen
derson then carried the ball in
for the final score of the game,
which was 13 to 6.
The Tigers ground game was
slightly muffled in that they got
only 167 yards. The leading rush
er was Robert Henderson with 87
yards on 7 carries. Completing the
rushing, Robert Griffin had 45
yards on 3 carries, Tyrone Horne
17 yards on 5 carries, Clarence
Norris, 13 on 2, Jerry Respress,
5 on 1.
The Tigers aerial attack was
certainly a letdown as Quarter
back Clarence Norris completed
only 2 passes for 20 yards.
On defense everyone played
rough, aggressive ball. The lead
ers on defense were Calvin
White, 9 and 5, Ollie Woodard
8 and 4, Kenneth White 7 and 4,
Johnny Varner 6 and 5. Others
who performed well were Lu
ther Morgan 5 and 2, Steve
Jones 4 and 2, J. W. Jefferson 4
and 2, Jerry Respress 3 and 2,
George Akins 3 and 1, Clarence
Norris 2 and 1 and Robert Grif
fin 1 and 0.
Asa season total the Tigers
scored 111 points compared to
74 for opponents. The Tigers sea-

leading scorer was Robert Hen

297 yds. The leading passer was
Clarence Norris with 51 com
pletions for 388 yards. The de
fensive leader was Calvin White
with 81 tackles and 56 assists.
The Tigers wish to express
their sincere appreciation to ev
eryone who supported them dur
ing the “69” football year. They
wish to thank Coach Joe Davis
for such great and unselfish
coaching and Coach Mclntyre for
his time and attention and mak
ing this one of the Tigers great
est seasons. The Tiger team hopes
for just as much support as they
now approach the “69-70” basket
ball season.
