ANNUAL CHRISTMAS DINNER
0F godsey family WAS
GALA EVENT OF SUNDAY
On Sunday, December 21st, the
families of the late Sam and Josie
Godsey held their annual Christ
mas dinner at North Butts Club
house.
The tables were laden with a
bountiful supply of food. Many
dishes were prepared including
turkey and dressing and all the
trimmings. After all appetites
had been appeased and tables
cleared the gifts were exchanged.
Several games of bingo were en
joyed by all present.
Those present included: Mr.
and Mrs. S. G. Godsey, Mr. Clif
ford Godsey, Mr. and Mrs. Sam
my Godsey and little daughter,
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Hencely,
all of Atlanta, Mr. and Mrs. E.
A. Godsey, Mr. and Mrs. H. J.
Castellaw, Mrs. W. D. Haynes,
Mrs. W. C. Godsey, Mr. and Mrs.
Levie Maddox, Mr. and Mrs.
Stanley Maddox and Stan, Mr.
and Mrs. Lewis Freeman and
Elisabeth, Mrs. Randy Freeman,
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Boggs and
Tina, Mr. and Mrs. Billie Crowd
er, Miss Bessie Barnes, all of
Jackson, and Mr. and Mrs. Harry
Davis of Atlanta and Willie Mae
Broadus, who helped serve the
guests.
Each guest departed expressing
their joy in being together and
looking forward to another
Christmas.
PERSONAL
Mrs. W. W. Pope of Decatur
will spend the holidays with Mr.
and Mrs. Rufus Kitchens. They
will have dinner Christmas Day
with Mr .and Mrs. Carlton Mor
ris, David, Joy and Julie.

FACULTY AT TEA

The Jackson Chapter of the
Future Homemakers of America
entertained the faculty of Jack
son High School at a tea Decem
ber 16th in the Home Economics
Laboratory.

tive air was prevalent. The fac
ulty took this opportunity to pre
sent gifts to the principal, Mr.
Paget, and the superintendent,
Bill Jones.
Members of the chapter served
mulled cider, party sandwiches,
mints and nuts.

quite ill at Sylvan Grove Hospital.
Mr. and Mrs. James L. Traylor
of Marietta spent the weekend in
Albany as guests of Mr. and Mrs.
Robert Yielding and are now at
home with Mrs. Mildred Ballen
ger and aunts for the holidays.

The Hawthorn Garden Club
held their annual Christmas
luncheon on December 17th at
the Jackson Clubhouse.
The group enjoyed a lovely
meal and the exchange of gifts.

wards, Nell Swan, Bertha Perdue,
Nan McDonald, Dora Maddox,

Burgan, Mrs. Van Freeman,
Messrs. Harry Redman, John
Nutt, and A. D. Pope.

Leigh, who was six years old.

Carrollton are expected Christ
mas Eve to spend the holidays
with Mrs. Mildred Ballenger and
aunts, Mrs. O. A. Andrews and
Miss Ethel Smith.
