TYLER-THAYER
Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer C. Garr
of Jackson announce the mar
riage of their daughter, Mrs. Gail
Tyler, to Mr. Henry S. Thayer,
son of Mrs. Frank Thayer of
Macon and the late Mr. Thayer.
The vows were exchanged Sat
urday morning, March 28th, at
the Garr home with the immedi
ate members of both families
present. The Rev. Frank Smith
performed the double ring cere
mony.
Miss Ellen Thayer and Frank
Thayer, children of the groom,
stood with the couple.
The Garr home was beautiful
ly decorated with urns of fern
on either side of the kneeling
bench. A spring bouquet and
glowing white candles added to
the simplicity of the decorations.
The bride’s table, which held
the wedding cake, punch, mints,
and nuts, was overlaid with a
white cloth. Mrs. Frank Smith as
sisted Mrs. Garr in serving.

Carolina is spending this week
with Mr. and Mrs. B. T. McMich
ael and Mrs. Florrie Giles.
Mrs. Minerva Perkinson and
son, Jackie, spent the weekend at
their home in North Carolina.
Mrs. Bessie Hoard spent last
week with Mr. and Mrs. C. A.
Batchelor and family at Fort
Benning. Holly Batchelor re
turned home with her for the
weekend.
The Sunday School here en
joyed an Easter Egg Hunt Sun
day morning.
Mr. Jim Wise of Duke Uni
versity and Mr. Larry Wise of
Gainesville, Fla. spent several
days last week with Misses Blan
nie Stallworth and Evelyn Mon
crief.
Mrs. Andrew Waldrop returned
from Griffin Hospital last week
feeling somewhat improved.
Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Holloway
attended the funeral of Mr. Rolfe
Johnson in Forsyth Sunday after
noon.
Mrs. Maggie Scott of Griffin
visited Mr. and Mrs. Aldean
Waldrop Sunday.
Several of Miss Falma Greg
ory’s nieces and nephews of Grif
fin and South Carolina visited
her Sunday. Miss Gregory con
tinues about the same.
Mrs. Bobby Ivey returned from
Griffin Hospital last week and
is feeling much improved.

Mrs. Warner is the sister of Mrs.

Vic Smith has transferred from
Georgia Southwestern College at
Americus to the University of
Georgia, Athens, for the Spring
quarter.

answer the call of the Bloodmo
bile enabling the county to re
main in good standing with 121
pints collected March 16th.
Words of commendation should
be extended to all who helped

Lake. We extend congratulations
to him Mike Allen, long
time grocery merchant whose re
tirement is effective this week,
will be sorely missed by his
friends and customers at Allen’s.
We know his friends will agree
that he is due a well deserved re
tirement and hope that he can
now fulfill all his dreams and

County Sheriff’s Department has
posted a SIOO fine for anyone
caught dumping garbage in Butts
County. It will take the coope
ration of all Butts County citi
zens to uphold and maintain this
law, a matter which we should not
take lightly We noted

their favorite bunny left.
