Letters To
The Editor
I noticed in the society column
of The Progress that I was about
to have a Happy Birthday on
March 31st. So What?
I have another candle on my
birthday cake, but that’s no cause
to rant and shout. I’m thankful
that I’ve got the strength to puff
and blow the damn things out.

Correction:
In last week’s article, Maralyn
Ridgeway’s name was left out as
one of those attending the Dis
trict 4-H Rally at Rock Eagle.
She was there.
Camp applications are continu
ing to come in. We have a few
spaces left for those who have
not signed up.
Anew event has been added
this year. That is a Dog Care
and Training School. Anyone
wishing to attend may apply in
this office.
Weed Control
Weed control is becoming very
specialized with new chemicals
being added to the list each year.
We now have in the Extension
Office circulars on Weed Control
in field crops, forage crops, fruits
and nuts, vegetables and hedge
rows. You may obtain a copy of
any of these circulars by contact
ing the Extension Office.
Soybean Varieties for 1970
The variety of soybeans you
plant is determined by when you
plant. If you plant between May
1 and June 15, then you should
plant Hampton 266, Hampton
266A, Bragg Davis or Dare beans
planted during this period will
make more than later planted
beans. However, if you follow
grain or for some other reason
do not plant until after June 15,
then you should plant Hardee or
Coker 102.
