McGregor-Fletcher Vows
Are Planned For June

The wedding is planned for
Saturday, June 6, at the First
Presbyterian Church of Greens
boro, N. C.
Miss McGregor is the sister
of Mrs. James Walker Fulton of
High Point, N. C.; Mrs. Robinson
O. Everett of Durham, N. C.;
James Tillman McGregor Jr., of
Columbia, S. C., and Douglas
Culp McGregor of Reidsville, N.
C. She is the granddaughter of
Mrs. James 1). Moore of Gastonia,
N. C., and the late Mr. Moore and
the late Mr. and Mrs. James Till
man McGregor of Rutherfordton,
N. C.
The future bride is a graduate
of Peace College in Raleigh, N.
C., where she served as president
of the student body in 1907 and
1968 and received her associate
bachelor of arts degree. She was
presented at the 1967 Raleigh
Debutante Ball. At the Univer
sity of North Carolina, Chapel
Hill, the bride-elect will receive
her B. A. in education in June.
She is a member of Pi Beta Phi
sorority and holds membership in
the Junior Spinsters Club in
Greensboro and her church affili
ation is with the First Presby
terian Church of Greensboro.
Mr. Fletcher is the brother of
Miss June L. Fletcher of Fleming
ton, N. J., and Mrs. Jon Rock
Dynesius of Beaufort, S. C. He
is the grandson of the late Mr.
and Mrs. John H. Thomas of
Washington, D. C., and Mrs.
Van M. Fletcher of Jackson, Ga.,

The prospective bridegroom
was graduated from Baylor
School and will receive his A. B.
degree in Latin in June from the
University of North Carolina. Mr.
Fletcher, a Morehead Scholarship
winner, is a member of the Order
of the Grail, Phi Eta Sigma and
Phi Beta Kappa. He recently re
ceived the Justin Potter Scholar
ship to attend the Vanderbilt
University School of Medicine.
The future bridegroom is a mem
ber of the Church of the Good
Shepherd, Episcopal, Lookout

Wednesday evening, April Bth,

lin McWhirter.
The bride is the granddaugh
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Allen Long
and Mr. and Mrs. Sam Huckaby,
all of Molena.
The groom is the grandson of
Mrs. Ezra Reeves and the late
Mr. Reeves of Jackson and Mr.
and Mrs. F. M. Weldon Sr. of
F rsyth.
Mr. Reeves is continuing his
studies at Griffin Tech where he
will graduate in July.

went surgery Monday and is ex
pected to be there several more

ing for a speedy recovery for him
and his return to fill his place
in the pulpit of Jenkinsburg Bap
tist Church.

Little four year old Wayne
Waites, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray
mond Waites, was bittten by a
large dog Sunday afternoon with
the wound requiring nine stitches
on his face. Although the dog is
believed not rabid, it is being
held for observation.
Mr. Oi’ville Kitchens and Mrs.
Onree Singley remain on our sick
list and we wish them a speedy
recovery.
Mr. and Mrs. V. L. Jinks visit
ed Mr. and Mrs. Ila Welch in
Forsyth on Thursday.
Little Miss Gail Briscoe enter

Elliott of Flovilla, will be inter
ested to learn that he received an
honorable discharge from the
United States Air Force Friday,
April 10th, and re-enlisted to
serve his country for four years
on Sunday, April 12th. Sgt. El
liott, stationed at Charleston Air
Force Base, Charleston, S. C., has
served four years active duty in
cluding one year in Tai Wan dur
ing which time he was a load
master on Cl4l aircraft.

Ball joined Mrs. Eldee Sullivan
of Decatur for dinner and attend
ed “Charlie’s Aunt” playing at
The Alliance Theater. Mrs. Sulli
van, the former Eldee Owen,
