FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH
The Adult Choir of the First
Baptist Church enjoyed a fish
fry at the McGarity Cottage at
High Falls last Friday night. Mr.
McGarity is a cousin of Mrs.
Dickie Moore, church pianist.
The fish were caught and
cooked by Acic Smith and Mrs.
Sandra Moore with other mem
bers of the choir furnishing all
the trimmings.
Approximately 40 people at
tended and had an enjoyable time
of fellowship together.

Friends of Rev. Claude Hen
drick, 81, of Commerce, widely
known in Butts County, regret to
learn of his death Sunday night.
He was a retired former pastor
of Commerce First United Meth
odist Church and was a former
superintendent of the Gainesville
District of the Methodist Church.
He had been preaching since the
age of 16 and was a graduate of
Vanderbilt University. Interment
was in the Sparta, Ga. cemetery
Tuesday afternoon. Mr. Hendrick
was a brother-in-law of Mrs.
Franklin Maddox of Jackson.

weekend in Macon with Mr. and
Airs. George Head Jr. They were
joined there by Mr. and Mrs.
Philip Vullo and children, Lisa
and Philip Jr., of Atlanta.

The Jackson Lake home of the
Hay Plymel family was the scene
of enjoyable activities over the
past weekend.
Arriving for breakfast Friday
morning were their son, Tommy
Plymel, and his friends, Gary D.
Meece, Dearborn, Michigan, and
Earl W. Jones, Sasakwa, Oklaho
ma. All three are stationed at
Glynco Naval Air Station, Bruns
wick.
Joining the festivities Friday
night for a frog leg supper were
Mr. Jerry Bartlett and son, Chris,
from Morrow and Mike Bartlett
of Atlanta.
Saturday night the guests were
honored with a fish fry. Those
joining this event were Tommy’s
wife, Beth, and daughter, Ginger.
