Mitchell House - After FHA Loan
FHA Can
Aid In
Housing
The Farmers Home Administra
tion, credit agency for the United
States Department of Agricul
ture, can provide adequate hous
ing for low’ and moderate income
families in this area.
A good example of this is the
Mitchell family of Henry County.
The old dwelling shown on the
left was without adequate space,
poorly heated, and had no sani
tary facilities or running water.
Of course, this meant poor and
crowded living conditions for Mr.
Mitchell’s 15 member family. The
new dwelling shown on the right
has approximately twice the liv
ing space, a central heating sys
tem, hardwood floors, and
ceramic tile baths.
With the help of responsible
groups such as The Central Geor
gia E.M.C., the Farmers Home
Administration office located in
McDonough, expects its housing
loan program to exceed one mil
lion dollars this year.
Farmers Home Administration
makes low interest long-term
loans to low and moderate in
come families who are unable to
meet the down payment and re
payment terms required by other
lenders. Additional information
on this loan program can be ob
tained by contacting Glen Staples,
County Supervisor in McDonough,
the telephone number is 957-
3622, or Mrs. Elizabeth Watkins,
Home Economist for Central
Georgia EMC.

home following several days con
finement last week in the Griffin
Hospital where she had surgery,

Jr. and family have as their

Miss Ann Watkins, student at
Reinhardt College, home for the
