Devotional
BY REV. DON FOLSOM
Paator, Firat Baptist Church
Many businessmen are in the
midst of the job of taking inven
tory, or as it is sometimes called
“taking stock.” It is important to
do this in order to determine
where the business stands. This is
just good business.
The same principle holds true
of life. It is good to check up on
one’s self occasionally. Sometimes
people are so busy seeing the
faults of others that they have
no time to look in the mirror
of God’s word to see their own
failings.
So in this last week of the last
month of the old year let’s do a
little checking up on ourselves.
1. How much time do I spend
in prayer and Bible Study each
week?
2. What is there in my life that
I am not willing to yield to the
Lord?
.‘t. How much do I actually give
to the Lord’s work each month?
4. Am 1 praying and working
for the salvation of anyone in
particular?
5. What is there in my life that
might he a stumbling block to
someone else?
7. Am I doing more or less for
the Lord than I did a year ago?
7. Am I using my time wisely
for His glory?
8. What is my greatest weak
ness and source of temptation?
9. Whnt does the Lord want
me to do for Him this year?
There are other questions that
will come to mind as you search
your heart. As you face these
questions prayerfully, God will
give you the answer. He will help
you grow stronger in becoming
the person you really want to be.
